Spacious sites with good amount of space between each so don't feel crammed in. The bathrooms could definitely use a bit more attention but better than just having outhouses. The showers cost $1/4minutes and temperature can't be controlled. Ours were cool to lukewarm at best.
What a cute campground, the sites are private enough that for the most part u can only hear your neighbors. 10 bucks for a tote of wood and a buck for 4 mins in the shower (u can add more). There is outhouses and indoor bathrooms so that was a nice bonus. Other then a little booking mess up, and really bad black flies we had a great experience there. We will go back again.
This is a hard one to not give a 5 star review but it isn't what it once was. There used to be a lady that worked here and took your money when you checked in. Now it's self service and the sites aren't even looked after like they once were. I'd even bring my own rake and do what the staff should be doing but there isn't hardly any gravel in sites. It's ashamed that a beautiful place is going down hill. Was putting in the little garden shed cabins necessary? Or the houses up near barkerville? Maybe that's what took the focus off these once beautiful camp sites. We go to barkerville once every year and want to support this gem but manage resources a little better. What do staff even do now? Nothing.
What a great place to spend time. 30 Amp power to a few sites. Sites were clean when we arrived. Coin showers were great!(4min for a loonie) And having flushing toilets close to sites was a bonus. Majority of the sites were nicely treed for privacy. A huge thank you Lee at the check in office at the site for all here help!
No service so it's a nice disconnect but my word - the bugs were abundant and feisting on us at ALL times. Showers were pretty cold. Bathrooms could be better.. but truly. My 5 star review lies with laurien (spelling?) She was lovely. I had done 700+ km that day with 2 kids and it was starting to pour rain when we got there. I was EXHAUSTED. she was wonderful, super friendly, and willing to help me with anything I needed in that moment. It was the kick off first leg to a 10 day trip just the kids and I. I am grateful for her even if it was just a chat and offering assistance where needed. 5 star to you ms. Thank you so very much.
