Camp ground host was not polite what so ever. We camp here every year because it’s the best campground in the fishing community but is no longer very welcoming to fishers. The bathhouse is locked up before dark so you can’t use their showers. Overall not a very pleasant experience with the new campground hosts
The lady “in charge” is very rude. Apparently going 10 mph in a 10 mph is illegal and you’re trespassing if you are delivering a package to one of the campers. There’s plenty of other campgrounds, look around before choosing this one.
A hidden gem! The staff and the guests (most seem to be long term residents) were all super kind and friendly. The setting is so peaceful and the beautiful trees with Spanish moss hanging from them was like something in a movie. Very clean and well kept, even the long term residents took pride in their sites and keep it organized and tidy. We only stayed two days but would definitely go back as this is a very nice park in a beautiful location.
Warning!! After 8 + months of camping in this facility you learn a lot about the owner, management, and maintenance staff. Seems that you have no written contract, receipts, and made up rules. When making payments ask for a receipt this is a cash facility, so if you happen to pay by check making sure you check your banking records they do allow you to pay with check. It may be cashed within a few months after your payment??!! Be aware of your surroundings The maintenance man has been caught harassing and stalking females on the camp grounds. law enforcement does very little unless you have a witness . Be sure you have someone with you in any event. It’s sad that a nice facility with common down to earth people have to put up with a disgusting environment and poor management in a senior living area. Oh and yes last but not least this is a pick and choose person facility if long term guests don’t like your attitude they will do any and everything to serve an eviction and call the police without justification. Signed 100% Disabled Veteran. Hopefully this Camping Facility will improve for the future maybe not?
I've stayed there for two years, and the new managers are running the park into the ground, they started having church at the clubhouse and that comes before the people that stay there. They hire a new maintenance person who doesn't care about your own personal property, when he cuts the grass he runs the mower over the road without turning off the blades or even raising the deck throwing rocks and dust over everything and everyone. I also witnessed him for months harassing the former maintenance people right up to the day they left. He claims that he does what he is asked from the managers, the lady manager tells and makes up lies to cover for him ,(but I guess she is telling him to do it)and she doesn't know how to talk to people without being rude. And, most of the park's grass is overgrown.probably because the new maintenance person has a lot of his own stuff at the shop, He even brought in an old car on a trailer and put it in the shop!!! And I haven't seen not one piece of equipment come out of the shop fixed. I hope the ower comes to his senses and does better!!!!!!!
