Lucky Loon Family Campground

While relatively new to camping life, I've visited many campgrounds over the years to see friends and family at their sites. I couldn't be happier with our choice when we decided to become seasonal campers at Lucky Loon! This is an absolutely beautiful campground, full of lovely people! The entire property is well maintained, and the owners are seen EVERY DAY working on improvements everywhere. Just since we moved in last September we've seen the roads and beach graded regularly, the washrooms and showers are made immaculate on a daily basis, clearing of dead trees and stump removal, irrigation, and draining issues are constantly being addressed, new horsehoe pits, new industrial washer and dryer were installed, lights and security cameras installed, new sod laid, and lawns and gardens are so well kept and beautiful and next year will bring a large community garden for those who like to grow fruits and vegetables! There is a great mix of families and retired folks here and they all work very well together. There are events almost every weekend throughout the summer and it's a great mix of things designed to make sure there's something for everyone. We had some really great music this summer!! All of the friends and family that we've had visit this summer have commented on what a beautiful park it is and how well maintained it is. All of the staff that work here are super friendly and are never too busy to stop and have a chat before moving on to their next chore. We love sitting around our fire at night having a few wobbly-pops or glasses of wine with friends and neighbors, and it's always a treat when the owners stop in to say "hi" and share in the camaraderie. I just can't imagine a better place to spend your summer than Lucky Loon Campground. I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as a 'perfect' campground anywhere, but we certainly love "the loon" and highly recommend it to friends, family, and strangers alike! 5-Stars all the way!!

We loved staying at the Lucky Loon Campground for the civic holiday long weekend! Our kids (3.5 and 1.5) had a blast! The campground is extremely clean and manicured, even the beach is very very clean (I saw them grooming it every day we were there). The washrooms are very clean and the playground is great! There was a really nice piano show on the Sunday, we really really enjoyed it! The other campers are very friendly and the owners are super nice and friendly! We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back next year!

I rented one of 2 Bunkies, named Yodel. They are empty cabins that you set up, just like you would a tent, without setting up a tent. There is a loft for kids, and lyou're dry and off of the ground. It includes a picnic table, a fire pit, 2 lounge chairs, and a BBQ. The beach is very nice and gets raked every morning, and it has jumpy toys in the water. The bathroom is clean and so are the showers, which are pay showers and takes loonies. There is a store with supplies and ice cream. This is a great family campground with friendly people. I recommend it.

I recently started camping here this summer with a family who’ve been here for many, many years. If you’re looking for a family friendly/ pet friendly campground, this is the place for you. The park its self is extremely beautiful and there’s so much of it to enjoy. There’s a beach, and a separate part of the beach is for pets, a park for kids and an open spot to kick a ball around, a fenced in dog park, a horseshoe area, and so much more. I enjoy this peaceful get away from home on weekends. The owners are very reasonable and friendly. They do a lot of work around this park, keeping it clean and looking top tier for all campers. You’re more than welcome to enjoy some drinks with your friends around a fire, stay up late, and have a good time. Being intoxicated and obnoxious and hooting and hollering all hours of the night, and just overall foolishness is not welcome here. Overall if you’re looking for a calm, cozy, friendly campground this is the campground for you. If you’re looking for a loud, obnoxious, filthy booze fest you’d be better off in a trailer park boys setting or possibly north Augusta. I’d also like to note that people are leaving comments on this that cannot be controlled, like the weather. The ground gets wet when it rains! (I know, absolutely mind blowing) the owners don’t have control over the weather so unfortunately the ground will get wet and muddy. Good news though!! It will dry when it gets warm and the sun comes out!! Absolutely crazy ;) A lot of angry reviews are coming from people that have been here a long time, and they just don’t like change! They are also coming from people that cannot address their issues like adults and hide behind their cellphones. So please ignore the hate reviews and come join us at lucky loon family campground!!!! 🩷 Look forward to meeting new campers next year!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻

My wife and I recently sold our home and purchased a new RV as our summer home. We spent months sifting through the hundreds of campsites online, emailing and calling back and forth with dozens, and visiting as many as possible for face to face meetings with owners and to view the quality of the parks for ourselves. We met with Jeff and his lovely partner Cora for an initial look at Lucky Loon and found them both to be welcoming and genuine individuals with a vision and a passion for their newly acquired campground. After a subsequent visit and settling on an available site, we made the decision to join the family at Lucky Loon. We moved in at the beginning of September, and we couldn't be happier. We've already paid our deposit for the next season. Jeff, Cora, and the entire staff at Lucky Loon have been nothing but professional, friendly, and extremely efficient while executing their various duties around the park. There have already been enormous improvements to the park overall with the clean-up of standing deadwood, re-positioning of trailers for better sightlines to the water, website improvements, and super easy policies and procedures for getting things done. There is a nice mix of retired, seasonal campers like us, and families with kids as well. We have yet to encounter any issues whatsoever, and both types of campers are cared for equally with all needs being met. The wife and I are not huge social butterflies, but there seems to be a good number of events for those that enjoy that sort of thing. The grounds are always immaculate, and the washrooms are the cleanest I've encountered. Pump-outs are prompt and reliable, and everyone we've encountered here seems genuinely happy with everything at Lucky Loon, including the owners. I've read some of the reviews from angry and disgruntled campers and can only say that they seem to come from the same ilk we encountered when checking out other campgrounds prior to settling here. I'd say we're all well rid of bad rubbish. If you're looking for a safe, attractive, friendly, and well-run campground for you or your family, my wife and I HIGHLY recommend Jeff and Cora and Lucky Loon Family Campground.
