Lumen Nature Retreat

My friend and I had a wonderful time staying at the Lumen cabins! It was such a cozy few days for us enjoying the wonderful trails nearby, making pancakes in the cabin, and using the saunas on the property. The bathhouses are also incredibly nice and stay warm in the winter. Fantastic showers! Even in the -10 degree nights, the cabin remained very cozy and the staff provided an extra heater for us when we had trouble with the thermostat (totally our fault, we just didn’t know how to use it!). The staff were very kind, friendly, and communicative. I would absolutely recommend this place to travelers and would return here in a heartbeat.

We had the best time spending a long weekend at Lumen. Our cabin was lovely and the bath house was great. You cannot beat the 2 saunas though, especially loved the barrel sauna. We were able to rent spikes (for free!) for a winter hike out of the playhut and were so appreciative of those amenities. The store on site had a lot of cute goodies too! We cannot wait to come back!

Lumen Nature Retreat was a beautiful place to stay for the weekend while visiting Ice Castles…. The tiny house was very clean and modern with a cute biofuel fireplace, loft and nice size bed. It was very relaxing to enjoy one of the two saunas. We enjoyed the circular sauna overlooking their pond. Bathhouse was very clean with modern fixtures. Lumen looks amazing at night with string lights in the trees along the road. We will definitely be back.

A Dreamy Winter Getaway This was my second time visiting Lumen Nature Retreat, and once again, it exceeded all expectations! My first visit was last summer when I stayed in one of their a-frame tents by the river—a peaceful, scenic escape. This time, I decided to return for a winter stay in one of their cozy hygge cabins, and it was by far the best experience yet. The cabin was everything I could have asked for—warm, inviting, and filled with thoughtful amenities that made me feel completely comfortable and safe, even as a solo traveler. There’s something special about enjoying the beauty of winter from the comfort of a cozy cabin, surrounded by nature. It’s the perfect place to slow down and truly unwind. Lumen Nature Retreat has an incredible way of getting better with each visit. Their continuous improvements, like the 24/7 accessible camp store and upgrades to the bathroom facilities, show how much they care about enhancing the guest experience. I’m already looking forward to my next trip and experiencing Lumen in all seasons—it’s become my personal goal! If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat that offers both relaxation and adventure, this is the place to be. Highly recommend for solo travelers, couples, or anyone who loves nature!

Absolutely wonderful experience at Lumen! The property is gorgeous and very well kept. The cabin was super cozy, clean and had everything we needed. The communal bathrooms were very nice and clean, with great amenities, and the saunas were an amazing plus! We enjoyed multiple sauna sessions, which you can book ahead of time for a private relaxing experience. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area!
