Additionally, guests booking lakeside sites should be aware of potential drainage issues, as some lakeside sites have experienced flooding during rain, even moderate rainfall, due to poor drainage and their location at the bottom of a slope. Customer Reviews
Great stay at a wonderful park. We stayed in a spacious patio site, with a view of the lake. We came in Sunday and left Friday so the park was quiet and peaceful. Staff were always friendly and attentive. We brought our dogs and they had so much fun. Used our time to relax, read, swim in the pool, and play ladder golf. KOA was clean and well cared for. Close to town for adventure and a variety of food if desired!
Our family stayed at KOA Lynden for the Canada Day long weekend. This is a well kept camp ground, with a lot of amenities for families. Our lakeside site was relatively small, but the view was great. We enjoyed the activities there, the Den served good ice-cream and coffee, staff were friendly. We could pretty much get what we needed, including ice and firewood at the office. The only complaint was the noise, people didn't seem to respect the quiet time set at 10 pm, I could still hear people talking loudly until 1 am. There are nice restaurants and grocery stores nearby, we had a nice walk at the Dutch Village and enjoyed the food there. Everything went well until the last evening when it started to rain. Our site was flooded from the rain. It wasn't a pouring rain, just because of the poor drainage and our site was located at the bottom of a slope. We wish we were told about the risk of flooding and could have left a day sooner. We spent hours to pack the wet tent and stuffs and days to clean up the mess when we got home. Our neighboring sites were also flooded. For those who would like to reserve a lakeside site, keep an eye on the weather forecast. We took a look around, seems like the other tent sites away from the water were fine.
We stayed here at the KOA for about 4 months after moving into town. We loved the location and setting of the campground, the wooded area with strings of lights around one of the outdoor wash stations and low lights up one of the walk ways. Gives it a great vibe at night time. The ducks in the ponds are PRECIOUS and so friendly. It’s nice to just sit and watch them. They were the highlight of our time at the KOA. Each cabin has a cute little porch swing. Nice bathroom and laundry facilities. Although the arcade, mini golf, store, boat rentals and pool were closed for the season while we lived there, we look forward to coming back to camp during the summer and enjoying those extra amenities. The campground was under construction during our stay, and finished up right as we were moving. The new lots are nice!
We have stayed at a few KOA parks before, unfortunately we didn't feel like some of the workers were very friendly. They seemed to want to socialize more then really greeting & helping customers. The park has some nice amenities and is a pretty park. It would be nice to have more signs directing people out of the park since the map is so big and can get confusing depending on where you are camping at.
I felt compelled to leave a review, as someone who stays here annually. Some of the complaints I've read about are warranted -- barking dogs, are probably THE most annoying thing about staying here. And I think whoever owns this campground should reconsider their pet policy. What happens is, someone's dog(s) will bark at any person who walks past. Then, any neighboring dogs will also start barking. And you're lucky if the owners are present and deal with it, otherwise there is a major disruption to the peace that can go on for several minutes, over and over, during the daytime. It is surprising to me how many dog owners simply tie their dogs up outside and then leave them alone while they go do other activities. There are also a lot of kids, but I've never actually found this to be a problem. Now that I have my own kids to bring here, I'm thankful for the safe and welcoming environment. There seems to be a common mindset that everyone quiets down pretty early on, around 9 or so. Never had an issue with noise after then or ever when I was trying to sleep. As for the campground itself, it's awesome. There is a lot to do. And also the general store has REALLY good prices for any items you may need to purchase during your stay. We had one rude staff member on our recent trip. But EVERYONE ELSE has been friendly and welcoming. We enjoy our yearly trip and will continue to come back. My kids love feeding the ducks. When they run out of duck food at the store, you can probably blame us 😂
