1st time here in this campground, really very nice and clean! Unfortunately, there has been no water since May 2024 because of some sort of invisible maintenance. But just bring your own water and everything that you need for camping 🏕 like on a dispersed site. Forest service very, very friendly! There are multiple short trails down to the lake that are easily accessible. We were there for 2 nights 🌙 ✨️, no problem what so ever with wildlife, mosquitos, or loud neighbors. It's a perfect quiet spot 👌 But you have to reserve your spot. Otherwise, you can't stay overnight. There is no gate house or host where you could check in, and most likely also no internet service!
Really nice and close enough to civilization that you're not sol if you forget something. Spacious sites, dumpsters weren't a hike. the bathrooms were ratchet and the smell permeates your entire being so if you can hold it just drive 3 miles to Walmart. The kids had fun, the dog had fun. Easy trails around the lake. I'd go back
We enjoyed our stay at the campground. The campsite in G loop was a very nice layout. The trails to the lake were close and easy to access. There are no hookups. We stayed at site 30. There was decent sun exposure for our solar system - we were able to collect 200-300 watts of solar power input from my (6) 100 watt panels. The only drawbacks were that site G30 is right next to a "camp host" sign. Since the host site isn't visible due to being down a long road, other campers assume site G30 is the host. I moved the sign a little to help other campers realize this difference, and the host moved the sign back to being by our site... So in 2 days we had 6 people come up to our trailer to ask for help. A few were rude towards us when I told them we weren't the hosts, and they argued that the sign said we were the host. The other thing is that I didn't like the constant mild noise from the main road in front of the campground throughout the day that echoed into the campsite. Overall, I'll be back next season but I'll book a different sight to avoid the interruptions from fellow campers.
First time staying here and it's one of our new favorites. We stayed in site A2, it was spacious, good privacy from neighbors, clean and well maintained. Camp host Lynn checked in on us right at arrival to see if we needed anything. Nice short hike to the lake and good fishing from shore. The lake allows swimming which was really nice for a cool off. The only thing I didn't love was the noise from Walker Rd, it's a pretty busy road so we heard it all day long, but it was quiet at night. Would still stay again!
Great for "Newbie" campers and RV's alike! There are all the amenities you would expect from a well-maintained campground. And if you forgot to bring something like...I dunno, maybe flashlights or diapers, Costco is only a few miles down the road. The campground is open from April 1st to October, 31st. We went on May 15th. The weather was perfect and best of all, NO mosquitoes! May, early June, and September to mid-October are usually the best times to go to avoid dealing with the bugs. I'm a wanna be a photographer with a cheap Android phone but I've found the best time to be here is during the full moon phase. It's perfect for nighttime photos as well as good visibility to find your way around at night. TRAVEL HAPPY 😊
