This was our first trip in our camper ever (we've never had a camper and we've never been camping) and this was a great place to stay for our maiden voyage! The lady at the check in desk was very friendly and helpful. I liked her! She put us on site 107 and it was nice. She also told me about the scenic walk and we followed her instructions. It was nice. We would stay again.
We have come here for the last several years now in the fall. We normally book a smaller cabin that still sleeps 6. This time, we decided to splurg and get a larger cabin, and it did not disappoint. It was lakefront and had a beautiful view of the bridge. The only con was that this area had a public fire pit. Although the fire pit area is very nice, I just prefer to do things with my family in a more private setting. Overall, we had a great experience and the cabin itself is honestly so nice. 🙂
Great campground with stunning views! Loved all the amenities but the lack of laundry facilities was disappointing. Besides that it’s a beautiful place and highly recommend staying there and hopping over for a visit to the island!
Stayed in the loft cabin with a lake view. I didn’t know what to expect but it was stunning. Surrounded by trees and the beach within a few steps. I was surprised at the comfort of the plastic mattress on the beds. I think the only downside was that we couldn’t manage the fruit flies inside the cabin so make sure you’re always covering your food. I like that the staff monitors the campground and have a strict noise policy at 10pm. They were all very kind and helpful.
I do enjoy this campground , the views are amazing. The employees are very nice and helpful. We were left very frustrated when the office said that the free shuttle to the ferry was fast and reliable. We were told the the shuttle would be there to meet the last ferry at 8pm. We caught the 8pm in and just to be safe I called the shuttle line to make sure that they would be there. No one answered the line, I called 5x! No one was there to pick us up. We called the camp office, they said someone will be there soon. We waited 40 minutes before a shuttle came. Why? If you know people will be on a 8 pm ferry, do you show up at 8:40? They driver said the line operators probably went home for the night. I'm sorry you can't advertise a free shuttle and then leave people stranded in the dark with their bikes and no way to get back.
Great campground. It makes you feel that you are back in with nature. Facilities were great. Store was awesome. Close to everything and they can help out if you want to do tours to the island. I would highly recommend this campground
Big campground the site we stayed on was right across the water. It off the shoulder season price. We had incredible views from site, looking at the Mackinac Bridge and across to Mackinac Island. Midge flies were in full force, swarming our truck and camper only downsize being close to the water, but if you could get a site more inland than those campsites, don’t have issues. We had site 640, we still loved it because from inside our Class A motor home we enjoy the view just would have love to hangout outside, however, it was cold, so worked for us.
Excellent experience over the Memorial Day weekend. We had an extra large full hookup lot and it was perfect. Facilities were clean, staff was attentive, competent and friendly. 10/10 will be back. Quick drive to just about any activities you would want.
This is an older well-established Park and they are doing a great job of keeping it up. Just before we got there, our friends informed us they were having a bug problem near the coastline and got us moved inland and made the stay much more enjoyable. The bugs were only minimal where we were. One of the things that I liked best was the streets were wide enough to really easily get your RV into your slot and the slots were deep.
Have been camping here for several summers now and really enjoy the camp ground and all the amenities. Beautiful views and nice safe area. Only con would be that they seem to veer more towards rv's then tents and when we camp here we enjoy being able to tent camp and like to be able to view the bridge from our site and unfortunately there are only a hand full of sites that allow "tent camping" that also include the bridge/island/water view and those few are almost always booked. Would be nice to have more options to enjoy the beautiful bridge/island/water views from more sites that allow tents.
