Magnetic Valley Resort is excellent in a multitude of ways. Keith greeting us during the check-in and toured us the property, he’s friendly and local to any tips and questions you have about Eureka Springs. We stayed in the duplex. Large room and all resort amenities. The duplexes being right connected by the pool was great. Pool and Hot Tub are warm/hot. We visited mid October with mid 70s weather and the pool at 12am was still great, hot tub was hot and relaxing. There’s a bar and gift shop for quick purchase items. We aren’t drinkers but it’s a fully stocked bar setup. Didn’t visit with other guests much but everyone is friendly and welcoming. For location it’s at the edge of city limits, but from magnetic rd to main st there’s close free parking to walk, explore and enjoy the city easy. PURCHASE: the VIP to Eureka Live, you won’t regret it. The show was one of the best drag shows I’ve been to. Why are you still reading this? You’re a gay man yea? BOOK NOW!

First time ever staying at a resort and we were very nervous about it. Didn’t know what to expect, or how it would be. The staff and owners couldn’t have been more accommodating and kind. Their manager, Keith, was exceptional! He was so patient and kind when we first arrived. Took time to explain everything and even gave us amazing recommendations for places to go eat and see. The owners, Anthony and Kyle, definitely were not what we were expecting. They were so involved with their business and their guests, it was incredible to see. They explained the history of the resort and what their visions were for it in the future. They knew every single season pass holder and had genuine conversations with each and every one of them. You can tell the place is owned by people who actually care and want the best for this place. The location to town is so convenient and easy to get to. We will definitely be returning very soon to enjoy some more time in the mountains.

Get a clear invoice before booking, was over charged on a 3 night minimum on a busy holiday wknd when they expected the entire place to be full and 100 plus guests including day passes. Was charged almost triple the listed price for a hostel room even though normal pet fee is $15/night. I was refunded a partial amount and then charged $75/night additional for "double occupancy" even though all hostel rooms had only one person in each room for both nights (approximately 6 to 7 empty beds). Maybe 20 guests at most including day passes. I'm a small local business owner, over 22 years in business and 30 years in my field. I want to support small local businesses when I travel. Especially queer owned businesses. But I can't imagine how my clients would feel If I charged double and mislead them about what product they were getting, For $75/night the hostel room and shared bathroom were dirty. Even worse for $150/night. Originally MVR charged $230 for the hostel room listed at $75/night. Skip the hostel, get a better room at the resort in advance or stay in a different location and get the day pass.

Overall a lovely resort full of people that want to build a community and welcome all with open arms. This place avoids the common trappings of other gay resorts (being a couples-focused retreat, uppity/unfriendly staff, etc) while maintaining many fun amenities and giving added benefits off-site at Eureka Live that make the stay more worth it. One major problem though is that the owners have gone on semi-public record (a la Facebook groups) as being very anti-sex. There are very clear rules in place about PDA and many guests complained while I was there about how strictly those rules are enforced and how downright hostile staff can be towards those that sleep around, even while following those rules mentioned above. While it was all in all a very nice stay and overall a fun time, I don't think I'll be going back. I have multiple friends who feel unwelcome and uncomfortable with the efforts the owners put in to prevent the resort from being known as "seedy" or a "bath house." This same bizarre atmosphere has shown itself in the owner's other establishment, Eureka Live, which has no door to the men's bathroom and no door to the toilet stall. Could be a fault in construction, but in this context it's a bad look that the owners can't trust people to just go to the bathroom.

This really is a great place to be yourself, open up, and just relax. Me and my boyfriend went for a day pass on July 4th, but decided to come back for a weekend. We stayed in the 3 way house and we had a blast! It really is a lovely place.
