What a pleasant place to stay! Warren you've got such a gem here! We will definitely be back! Pull thru sites, cement pads, super cute town within walking distance wish we could have stayed longer!
Good for an overnight stay. We were on a nice, level concrete pad. It has the basic water, power and sewer hook ups. We did have a picnic table and a tire swing. There are no amenities (bathrooms, laundry, etc). The entrance is gravel and is right next to one of the ice vending machines you see around. Slow down or you could miss it. It is fairly small and was not at all crowded when we stayed on a Thursday night. As others have stated, there is an active railroad track very near it and the locals seem to have a prerequisite to automobile ownership of taking their mufflers off. Always a shame when people suck. Be prepared to pay with cash via a drop box. For the price and convenience of an overnight stay near our destination, we were happy here.
These are great people! They were so patient with our multiple phone calls, questions, repeat calls for directions. We’d had a bad travel day, multiple mechanical issues, unbelievable traffic on the interstate and other delays. We were well past closing time when we arrived, yet Becky met us at the office and led us to our campsite by lighted golf cart and directed us in the dark. The compassion was a welcome relief to weary, worn out, and stressed travelers! The campground is conveniently located right off of I26. If you stop at the BP gas station on your way in, the locals may even lead you to your destination!
The owner here is such a wonderful person he answered the phone at 3 am and let me park me huge RVand crash for the night. He was even kind enough to help me by airing up me RV tires before I left!! I felt so safe.
Ok for an overnight stop but leave early. No amenities, loud trains and speeding cars and bikes at all hours. Strange woman kept coming to our site.
