Magnuson Grand Rushmore View

Hotel is super close to Mount Rushmore. There were some hiccups with check in due to a computer issue. The desk staff were consummate professionals and got me checked in relatively quickly. The room was serviceable and clean. The only point of concern was after reading the safety notice on the back of the door I wondered how one was to lock the window in the room. Otherwise things were fine.

Location is close to many attractions. Chris was very helpful with recommending several places to visit along with information. Any questions we had, he was our go to. He is the only reason service received 4 stars and not 1. When making the reservation I called and spoke directly to the manager. She described the perfect view we would have at night when we stepped out of our rv and could see the faces lit up. That was the selling point to staying at this location. Unfortunately that was not the case. When I addressed the issue with the manager, she brushed me off and said there must’ve been a miscommunication. I mentioned the grounds needed to be sprayed for fleas. We were covered every time we stepped outside. The only other issue was poor lighting at the bathrooms that are located close to the wood line. When my girls went to shower there was a man sitting in his underwear by the women’s door. We couldn’t see him until we were a few feet from him.

Close to the Monument. Yes it has a view from the parking lot. Pictures attached. $162 a night Only 2 towels for a room that sleeps 4. No kleenex. No microwave in room No coffee maker in room AC unit sound like it wants to crawl out of the wall & eat you in your sleep combined with a digital alarm clock sound all night. Also only 1 disabled parking spot for the entire hotel. Also, parking in scarce close to the rooms. More rooms than spaces.

Staying at this place was a great experience! This place was pretty close to Mount Rushmore. We could see Mount Rushmore from the window! The rooms were clean, well-furnished, and we didn’t experience any issues at all during our stay! The hospitality from the staff was amazing! They were friendly from the beginning and inquisitive. Thank you to Jeane and Moose in particular, who made us feel welcome! Staying at this motel made our trip more enjoyable and I would recommend traveling to Mount Rushmore to book a room here! You won’t regret it!

The rooms are clean. The staff is great. The location is great. It wasn't bad. It doesn't offer breakfast. Coffee is in the lobby not the room. No mini fridge, no iron for my clothes. So not many frills. If you want a place to stay that's clean, close to many attractions, has decent beds, then this is a good choice.
