Customer feedback highlights the charm of this hidden gem. One visitor shared, "Friends and I rented it for a weekend getaway over Thanksgiving. It snowed the first night so it was a beautiful winter forest for us. There was no running, we were informed prior so it was no problem. There was electricity, a fridge, a stove and a heater. The heater isn't great but we were prepared. We got wood in Malad and brought a portable electric heater. The restroom is shown in the photos and was clean. It is dog friendly. The creek is shallow but was enjoyed for mini cold plunges. Great getaway!" Another guest noted, "Went up there end of June 2023. Fridge and stove were both working great. It was clean and tidy. No problems with the shower, water heater, or any other amenities. Just lots of mosquitoes." These testimonials underscore the quality and uniqueness of Malad Summit Guard Station.

Great small cabin that you can stay in year round except for when the forest service is using it. It is not a nice caben like in island park or bear lake, but it sure is warmer then outside. It is great for youth groups to be able to camp in the winter time. It has no running water in the winter. And there is no indoor bathroom, you have to use an outhouse. In the winter you have to walk through the snow for about a quarter mile to get to the cabin.
