Mallard Marsh Campground offers a beautiful and quiet lakeside setting for camping and relaxation. It's an ideal spot for those who enjoy kayaking and the tranquility of nature. However, potential visitors should be aware of the reported issues with the camp hosts and the lack of on-site water. We advise checking for updates on the camp host situation and ensuring you have sufficient water supplies before your visit. Despite these concerns, the campground itself provides a great experience for those seeking a peaceful outdoor getaway.

Brought our tent trailer. No hookups here (we knew that beforehand) BUT ALSO NO WATER here in the whole campground. You have to go to Elk Lake to get water. We camped and brought kayaks. That is the principal thing to do here, besides just relax and rest. VERY quiet. We reserved beforehand, and most campsites have RESERVED placards, but the campground was typically 50% empty while we were here.
Mallard Marsh Camp ground in itself is great and I would give the facility 5 stars. Vista Recreation and the camp hosts are not. We had site 14 which is right across from the camp hosts. We arrived 6-26-24 and were scheduled to leave 6-28-24. On the 27th the male and female hosts got into a drunken domestic fight. It escalated from yelling and screaming to items being thrown in their camp. We had to call law enforcement. We also finally were able to contact Vista Recreation. Who sent supervisors. After several hours it was determined that neither would press charges against the other. Vista told us they couldn’t remove the hosts as they are “tenants” of the site and they would need to give them 72 hours notice to evict them. We felt we had no choice to leave. The hosts are not fit to do the job. We were offered two free nights which I haven’t taken up on yet. Not really worth it since everything is always booked. Not to mention if those hosts are not removed there is no way we will camp there again. Has there been an emergency, forest fire the hosts would have been useless. Hopefully Vista remedies this issue.
Well situated campground, but lake access is limited in places to high traffic access points. There is a rustic pit toilet and I don't recall any potable water access. Be prepared for remote camping with not much for in the area supply availability.
We had a wonderful time at the campground we stayed at camp number 14 which was right by the camp host. Most campers are in trailers not tents. Camp 14 is close to a boat dock. Must go to boat dock at night to see stars. It is amazing. There is a toilet to accommodate.
Usually quite, large spaces and roads in so it doesn't scratch up our trailer, some of the best Canoeing/Kayaking/Paddle Boarding in Oregon!
