Well kept campground that was mostly empty 1st week of November. Short walk to the visitor center, where all the tours begin. Staff was super nice. Campgrounds is clean. It’s connected to a beautiful trail. We were in spot #80. It was long but curved and on a hill, we had a difficult time keeping all the wheels on the pad, they weren’t strict about it. Don’t forget o get your tour tickets in advance, you can’t visit the caves without the tickets.

The amenities weren't as expected -Paid showers ($1.50 for four minutes and thirty seconds of water, and the price goes up after that!) -No place to do dishes or dump grey water (they suggest dumping into the toilets, which makes a mess) The bathrooms were reasonably clean. The showers and laundry faculty was very dirty and in disrepair. The individual camp sites were nice. They are decent size and not too close together. It was fully booked, so I could see and hear about a dozen other groups. The camp sites come with a concrete picnic table and fire ring with grate that could be good for cooking. There are a lot of trees, and it's next to a forested area so there's a lot of wildlife like deer and turkeys walking around. I enjoyed seeing the caves, but I wouldn't camp here again.

A nice campground, lots of wildlife to see and lots of shade from high cover trees. Deer came right up to our camp. Also saw several turkeys. The showe situation in tent camping was rough, you had to go to the camp store for a shower, $1.50 for 4.5 minutes and the shower was disgusting. The camp store was nice and of course Mammoth Cave is an amazing place to visit.

This campground is very primitive. No utilities other than a couple of water filling stations. 💧 But there aren't any wash stations. 🧽🤔 So you have to carry your clean water to your campsite and then your dirty water back to the drain at the filling station 🤷🏻‍♂️ The sites are pretty close together. You will be up close and personal 🙈with your neighbors (and their children) 🙉 The sites are tight to get into with your trailer unless you get one of the pull through sites. There is one "tenting only" loop, but there can be tenters anywhere.⛺ They tend to be noisy, 🙉 always slamming car doors and tailgates getting things late at night or early in the morning. 😣 The B section I was in, all the tables and fire pits were on the wrong side. 🤷🏻‍♂️ But on the other hand I suppose it doesn't matter if you are in a tent ⛺😉. Also the back part of B Loop is right next to the road that goes to the Green ferry and the kayak trips. It can be quite noisy! 🙉 There is a 🚲 bike and hike🚶🏻‍♂️🥾 trail which follows the original train route.🚂 It's easy access from the campground and a nice ride. There's also another hiking trail which branches off of the trail between the campground and the lodge and visitor center. 😒 Again, I am always picking up bits of trash left behind by previous campers. 😠 I did not see any cigarette butts this time, but I did see an entire trash bag someone left on a bench on the bike trail! 🤬 The two campsites across from me were the handicap♿ accessible sites. Neither one was occupied by someone with a handicap.. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Overall I would say that this campground needs an entire makeover. There are only two electric sites⚡ but they are first come first serve in person. Although I don't know how you know what time to be there? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Or how do you pay for it 🤔 If they can have two sites then they can have an entire loop. There are enough visitors🤓 to this park to give it an extreme makeover as far as lodging and camping.🤑

Went last year in July. Campsites and bathroom clean. Heard barred owl, saw lots of turkey. A family-oriented campground that has lots of RV spots. So it is not quiet. One thing that really ruined the experience was they did not let me burn my own firewood but made me buy this awful 'eco block'. I hope they ended this practice because it is absolute garbage especially in high humidity/wet weather. I did like walking around and the cleanliness of the amenities was nice. Probably wouldn't return with the ecoblock thing as long as that's a rule.

Flush toilets in each camping loop but it was pay showers at the back of the camp store. Camp store hours not posted but also doesn't open early or stay late. The Cave tours and hiking were exceptional. We saw deer and turkey at the campsite

Highly recommend camping here! We have camped several state and national parks and this one by far was the best experience! The campground was clean and well laid out. The bathrooms were close and we'll maintained. Conveniently located to a camp store and the cave visitor center and cave tours. The kids had a blast riding bikes around the grounds and also on the bike trail that runs through the park. We will definitely camp here again so we can explore more of the wonderful trails this park has to offer.

Although dry camping, the restrooms are very clean. The campstore includes a post office, coin laundry and coin showers. The visitor center has gifts and places to eat. The whole area is beautiful. The campground is quiet. There's tons of cave tours available and lots of trails for hiking and biking.

Really nice campground! We enjoyed our stay, even with the rain. Bring your own quarters for the showers and laundry… and bring extra! The change machine was out of order the whole time we were here, and if a washer, dryer, or shower eats your quarters when the camp store isn’t open, you’re out of luck. The camp store isn’t open very late, so get there early for whatever you’ll need. That said, the common areas are very clean!
