Both times we've come here it's been amazing. We have so many memories from our family camp at Manapu! This year we went for girl's camp and it was beautiful, though a little cold. Great spot. There are bears, which we did encounter the first trip, but not the second one. But do not worry; bears are not aggressive unless you feed them. If you go here plz do NOT feed the bears.

The 3 mile road to the camp is not fit for a small car, which we were in. There are large rocks jutting upward all over the road. We had to drive 3mph or less through most of it while dodging the rocks. A friend took it too fast in his truck, and blew a tire. It was difficult for those hauling trailers as well. Other than the bad road, the camp was great. The water pressure in the lodge is low, making dishwashing tedious. We saw a deer in the meadow.

I have the opportunity to do service work with the scouts and love the work, beauty, variety of activities, and overall peaceful feelings that can be had there.
