Customer Reviews
Overall decent place to stay. Part of our stay included cold showers & closed bathrooms which was inconvenient. And I feel they could be cleaned better and more often. But for the price the location was great for rocket launches & beaches.
When we arrived I was handed a 2 page list of rules along with a handful of verbal rules that weren’t on the list, such as not being allowed to sleep in your car at night and that security would be coming around to check. What if you aren’t properly prepared for the weather or your gear fails? It was stated we’d be escorted from the property by security if we did. Rules are plastered on every surface around the campgrounds. The bathrooms have 2 pages with about 20 “fun facts” each, all of which are rules. 😂 Tent sites are really small and sandy so tent stakes don’t stay anchored. We were woken up by loud train horns 3x in a single night, one of which went on for about a minute. Car, plane, boat and train traffic are clearly audible from the whole campground along with police sirens and construction noise. Heard several gunshots throughout the night. I have videos of the noise at night but can only upload photos for reviews. I thought I had booked for 2 nights but mistakenly only booked one, which is absolutely my fault for not double checking. However, I missed a call from the office and called back within 30 minutes. The lady who answered was very rude and short with us. I never received a confirmation email so I couldn’t verify but we were honestly just relieved to be leaving this campground. Went to a hotel instead.
Nice, well maintained camp grounds. There are plenty of options for things to do, both around the camp grounds and the city. The sites are spacious, marked very clearly and well kept. The showers are close by and cleaned daily. The price is reasonable for the camping experience. There is a great view of the water on site, too. I'd love to come back and stay here again. I'd recommend this place to friends and family for a stay. There is a great little bar within walking distance that had live music, too. As an overall look at Manatee Hammock Campgrounds, I'd give them a great rating. You should bring the family and enjoy a stay.
Great campground near Kennedy Space Center, usually pretty crowded and the spaces are close together, but its a quite camp ground, and its right on the water. facilities are clean, trash is kept away from the camp sites, so no ugly overflowing dumpsters, they have a trash area that is very clean. Stayed here with a class B, I did not need hookups but every site has hookups.
I strongly urge anyone considering this campsite to read all negative reviews carefully before booking—I found them to be completely accurate. The staff, particularly the male attendant, is beyond unprofessional—abusive is a more fitting description. He yells at guests unprovoked, is confrontational, and even comes across as threatening. While checking in, I witnessed him behaving aggressively toward three other campers before me. It’s genuinely concerning and creates a hostile, unwelcoming environment. Beyond the staff’s behavior, the site you book online is not guaranteed—they will give it away without notice, often before you arrive. The website states that your site “may change based on camper size,” but in reality, these changes happen arbitrarily and without warning before they see your camper. Once you do arrive, expect to be met with criticism and hostility. The campsite also has unadvertised restrictions. Nowhere on the website does it mention that conversion vans, truck slide-ins, or newer style pop-up campers (like those from Four Wheel Camper) are not allowed. I was told my pop-up didn’t qualify as a truck camper simply because I didn’t have jack stands attached—an absurd and arbitrary rule. On top of all that, the sites are extremely small and noisy. Privacy is nonexistent, and the atmosphere is far from the peaceful outdoor experience you’d expect. Rather than endure any more mistreatment, I packed up and chose to boondock. I strongly recommend avoiding.
Nice campground with clean facilities and friendly staff. Right on the river so if you’re tent camping like me be prepared for a little condensation (bring a quick dry towel). Beautiful perfectly clear view of the launch pad so if there’s rockets going up you’re all set. The location itself is good not great (lots of traffic from US1) so you’re not really isolated but you kinda get used it, sorta like background noise. Close to drive or bike to various stores, some restaurants and of course Cape Canaveral / Titusville area. I would definitely stay again.
the worst campground i have ever been to. The first ladies were nice, checked our car and gave us our parking lot. But the blonde haired "karen" refusee to let us extend our stay because in her words " the other ladies do not work here that often and shouldn't have allowed us to stay here in the first place". The bathrooms are DISGUSTING - you feel as if you're sleeping on the highway oh and at the airport too - the train will honk 3 times a night so have fun getting sleep. Not coming back ever again.
The only thing going for this campground is the view and the ability to watch launches. Upon arrival, you get 2 pages of rules, many of which don't seem to apply to everyone. If you arrive early, you are greeted with a scolding, and reminded that check in is at 2 p.m. However, once you are there you realize that there is really no reason because they do nothing to your campsite between guests. Our campsite was not groomed in any way. We noted that some guests were allowed to stay in their cars in the RV site in front of us. But just days before, they kicked out another camper who wanted to sleep in his car. Some campers were re-assigned to different sites because their set up did not meet their size requirements. Meanwhile, the campground was no where near full and it wouldn't have hurt a thing to let them be. In the same breath, we noted tiny campers in the big rig sections. Rules not consistently enforced. I personally saw a tent camper discharge their gray water thru a short garden hose into the drainage ditch, right in front of our campsite. I did report that, and they came out and never even checked that camper, they checked their neighbor instead. They continued to discharge gray water their entire stay. During the day and early evening, anyone is allowed to come into the campground unchecked. The neighboring trailer courts come through in their golf carts and cruise the streets. I reported that too, and was told, yea, they do that. Meanwhile, they have "security" at night making rounds. Their gate does not lock at night. Their laundry room is filthy. I did not use the showers or restroom. They were spending some time planting some flowers, but the campground itself needed mowed and trimmed badly. Campsites are tight, some nicely spaced, but most are not.
Beautiful covered campsites on the Indian River. You can see the Rockets take off very clear on the pier that Jets out into the water. Occasional dolphin and manatee. Bring your fishing pole. There's also a swimming pool with a big game room and pickleball courts. Great Family Campground.
Terrible front desk experience. as many have stated before, the people at the front desk are about as useful as trailer hitch nutsacks. I prepaid online, the "attendant" at the front desk was unhelpful, uncourteous and downright rude. After presenting her with my receipt, she challenged my reservation and said I needed to check in first. THE WOMAN IGNORED ME. I told her the situation, she asked where my tent was. I told her I already put it on my spot and wanted to verify that I had the correct one. I asked for a refund and got two answers: Helen does the refunds and she's not in, and they probably don't do same day refunds. I told her I did not want her business and left. They kept my money and did not issue a refund. I got a hotel instead. Will not be returning and will spread the word about my interaction. 👎
