Many Pines Campground Introduce
🌲 **Introduction / Overview: Camping Under the Big Sky's Canopy**
Welcome to **Many Pines Campground**, a cherished escape nestled deep within the **Little Belt Mountains** of Central Montana. This picturesque National Forest campground, operated by the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, truly lives up to its name, offering **22 secluded campsites** shaded by a dense, beautiful stand of lodgepole pine, spruce, and fir trees. Situated at a cooling elevation of approximately 5,900 feet, Many Pines provides a fantastic, accessible basecamp for exploring the area's rich outdoor opportunities.
The campground is carved into the canyon along the banks of **Belt Creek**, a sparkling waterway that adds to the peaceful atmosphere and provides excellent stream fishing. It’s an ideal spot for Montanans looking to disconnect and immerse themselves in the quiet beauty of the forest. The atmosphere is generally tranquil, with the surrounding timber effectively muffling much of the noise from the nearby highway, allowing the sounds of nature and the rushing creek to prevail. This is a **first-come, first-served** campground, a classic Forest Service policy that ensures every local has a chance at one of the prime spots without needing a reservation months in advance.
🗺️ **Location and Accessibility**
Many Pines Campground is located in **Cascade County**, strategically positioned to be highly accessible while still feeling remote. Its location directly off a major state highway makes finding it incredibly easy, a distinct advantage for those traveling with RVs or trailers.
Address:
US-89, Neihart, MT 59465, USA
Access and Proximity:
The campground is situated approximately **3 miles south of the historic mining town of Neihart, MT**, and about 36 miles north of White Sulphur Springs, placing it right in the heart of the Little Belt Mountains corridor. You simply follow **US Highway 89**, which is a well-maintained, scenic route. The proximity to this major highway means quick access, though the surrounding forest helps to mitigate traffic noise.
Vehicle Capacity & Site Details:
Many Pines is recognized as one of the more accommodating sites for larger vehicles along the Highway 89 corridor. The maximum recommended trailer or RV length is generally **30 feet**, but some sources suggest the largest slot may accommodate up to 51 feet, making it a viable option for many traveling RVers and trailer users in Montana.

 - **Excellent Stream Fishing:** Belt Creek is renowned for its **brook trout** fishing. Anglers should note that some parts of the creek may have mandatory catch-and-release rules, especially for cutthroat trout, so always check the current Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks regulations before casting a line.

Very quiet, very nice place to camp. There was some noise from the road, but the trees really help to reduce that noise. The bathroom was very clean. The firepit was well established and clean.
Beautiful campground! This was a favorite of mine growing up. I love hiking and camping in this area so much! Always fun and plenty to explore and enjoy. I hope to make it back out there soon.
Awesome little campground. Got a bit full by the end of the night. Couple deer wandered into our camp just feet away from us. Wish I had a pic of that. 8-28 48 degrees.
Absolutely wonderuful National Forest campground. One of my favorites. Creek nearby, many tall pines, hence the name. Enough space between the sites for enough privacy. Saw some deer and I'm sure plenty of opportunity to see other wildlife.
Very nice small campground. We tent-camped for 3 nights. Every site seems to be thoughtfully laid out, level and well equipped with fire pits and picnic tables. A bit close to the highway but there wasn’t much overnight traffic in early September. The creek helps drown out that noise.
