We had our pick of the property which was super great for us. Owners were very nice and allowed us to change our spot due to a tree limb that we worried about. Only down side, which for us was no big deal at all, was no black or gray tank drain on the property. They did have one just down the road, but we had already pulled out and were on our way by the time we found out. Loved that you didn't hear any traffic from the main road. Apparently there's a reservoir that people fish from down the road.
Great little rv camp grounds. Owners were very nice and accommodating. Great communication even though we arrived a bit late. Shade trees and picnic tables. Not many rvs here in October so we got to let our small dog run n free for a bit. Highly recommended!
Stayed at mapes campground twice now instead of john martin campsites. It's conveniently close to the lake. The store is nice and has a wide variety of things inside. The campsites are clean, mowed, and we'll taken care of. The bathrooms and showers are nice being right there and are very clean. They even cut up some pool noodles to go around the fire pit so my blind handicap son was safer around the site. Which I appreciate alot. Which shows me they care for the people not just the money. We booked a couple more weekends in advance. If they have the openings we will definitely be staying here. Would hope to see a fish cleaning station and more 50 amp sites in the future. Thank you guys so much and keep up the great work it is appreciated.
We tent camped here for two nights and had a wonderful time. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. Felt great to have a nice hot shower. Tents can camp in the back of the property on grass. There were several picnic tables under some trees which we appreciated. The RV park had a lot of nice shady areas. We recommend staying here over John Martin. Hosts were super nice too!
The new owners clearly have worked hard to revamp this place! I never would have stayed here back in the day but with the extremely clean showers, affordable items at the store and great service....We look forward to staying again. This year no camping is allowed at the waterfront so Mapes puts you closer to fishing and the reservoir side!
