So beautiful and great sites available. We love how well kept this campground is and the cleanliness of the restrooms is excellent. If you are looking for a small campground with amazing views and feels fairly private then this place is it!
We had a blast here! Got the guys together to go camp and relax for the weekend and this was a great spot. You have to be careful because if you don’t reserve a spot, they fill up super quick on weekends. We didn’t go rock climbing but that’s what it looked like most people were there to do. Would recommend as a place for those that live in Utah but want to get away to somewhere nearby.
Maple canyon is a great place to climb or hike around. The campsites are clean and everyone that comes and goes is respectful, so you won't find any broken beer bottles you might typically find. During the busy season I would suggest calling in advance to reserve a spot or get there early to use one of the first come first serve sites. There are plenty of bathrooms around and it is kid-friendly. The rock is unique and fun for first timers! Will definitely be coming again.
*WARNING FOR FELLOW CAMPERS*: Talked to some fellow campers and we all had stuff stolen from our site (coolers, camp chairs and tables, etc). The culprit seems to be a local 20-something with a mullet driving an old silver/gray pick-up truck (possibly a Cheve?). He goes specifically on rainy days and will take anything not tied down so hide anything you are intending on keeping. Besides that, we had a great time camping here for 7 nights! Loved that climbing can be just steps away from where we were sleeping and there's still towns close enough (>30ish min) with things you might need (Walmart, coffee, etc). There were some loud groups that stayed, but that can happen at any campground. You can reserve a campsite online in advanced (these are often booked out for a while). The reserved sites are larger, come with a picnic table, and can accommodate bigger groups. There are first-come sites closer to the entrance. Some of them can fit around 2 cars comfortably. All sites have fire pits and there's a house just outside the canyon that has firewood for sale. If you're sleeping in your camper/car/van, it might help to bring something to level it as most of the ground is uneven.
Nice place to get away. If you looked to climb, this canyon in a must visit.
