Customer Reviews
Location of one of the greatest weeklong adventures of my childhood. We went from one lake to another throughout the week. Hiking, fishing, swimming. Breathtaking scenery. Solitude. Peace. Serenity. Quiet. Beautiful. Wish I could go back soon; the world is too loud.
It's been some years since a lady friend and I back packed into the Marble Mountain wilderness for 10 days. Sleeping under the stars, the pure, frosty, crisp air, the campfire shadow magic, swimming in the clear, cold lakes, making love under the sun. I could have died then and there, let the wild animals have me and it would have been as it should. All the wars, the petty politics arguing over left and right fall empty and meaningless there, for all wilderness areas are sacred and are truly what makes this land and the people who honor and revere them great.
One of the highlights of my life! Packed in for 7 Days on horses and a mule with two other experienced female friends. I was the neophyte. It turned out to be a bucket list item I will hold near and dear for the remainder of my life. By the way, this all took place many years ago. I had no idea I could post anything about that trip.
Great backpacking and lots of high mountain lakes to explore
Heard about it in 1973 from San Francisco Bay Chapter members of the National Speleological Society. Who did even better in later decades with their cartography. Nothing too easy either.
