Amazing place to visit!! We came here the day after our wedding (thank you to the people who wrote the nice things on the back of our dirty jeep! 😅). Super cool history and the guide was extremely knowledgeable about the formations within the cave. Super cool experience and hope to go back to a little harder of a tour!
Our first visit to tour caves was here. We absolutely loved it! We took the Dripstone tour. The story of the discovery of the cave and everything that has happened since was most enjoyable to learn. The artifacts left by people over time were great, and the natural views were fantastic. Our guide was superb and easy to hear as she told us all about the natural wonders and history of the cave. It was hard to imagine we were 200 feet below ground! We would love to go back. Picture can not do the cave justice, you must see with your own eyes!
This cute little campground has more to offer than many of the larger ones I've been to!🤩 Each site has its own gazebo pavilion on a concrete pad over the picnic table with a grill! ♨️ The grills are the best designed custom grill, and griddle I've seen anywhere at any campground! 😳 And each spot has a fire pit.🔥 Even the fire pits are custom. Not the usual leftover truck wheel 🙈 The 🎁 gift shop will supply you with ice 🧊and firewood🪵 at your request.☑️ Most of the campsites are 50 amp service!😱 But may not be deep enough for a 35'+. 🤔 The back-in sites are right along the river. There's one road down the middle. The campground is divided into two sections. One side even has cabins. But these are more than cabins. More like a mini house. They have cabins and grills as well. Nice clean bathrooms🚻 and individual showers 🚿 here. No dump station 💩⤵️ 🙁 The main road on the other side of Whiskey Run Creek is quite noisy.😣 There seem to be an unusual number of unnecessarily loud big rigs using Jake brakes at all hours🙉. So tenting⛺ or sleeping with your windows open🪟 could be problematic.
Me and my husband took our 6 year old here last weekend. It was a 1hr trip from where we live but it was worth it. We had so much fun. The cave is so cool. We took the long cave tour, Dripstone I believe. And our tour guide was a 15 year old girl(don't remember her name) but she did great!!!! She was really polite and funny.
Loved the tours. We took both the tours offered. The longer hour tour is by far the best one!!!
We had a great tour guide, and it was only my husband and I for the first tour. One other gentleman joined us for the second tour. I recommend that shoes with good tred are worn, because the walking is very wet and slick. It is very dimly lit inside, and a few times, the lights were put out to experience complete darkness. It is very damp at 52 degrees year round. There are some stairs and some steep inclines and declines to consider if you are unstable on your feet. Overall, it was a good experience.
Nice cave spleotherms! Some walking trails in the cave have unexpected drop-offs, so you need to be careful. Be sure to walk the board walk going up the hill to see the natural sink hole area.
There was so much to do and see there! Had a great time. There was gem mining, a maze, kart rides, climbing, sliding, bat cave climbing, glow in the dark putt, and some other stuff for the kids to do! We shopped at the gift shop after the tours and had pizza and stromboli for dinner one night. The campsite was great, we had a nice outdoor area and the outdoor public library was an awesome touch!
This was my daughter's first cave trip! She loved it. It was my first time to this location. I was very impressed 👏 great tour!
