Marriott's OceanWatch Villas at Grande Dunes

We just arrived home after an amazing week vacation at the Marriott Ocean Watch Villas in Myrtle Beach. Our stay met our expectations and more thanks to the wonderful staff, perfect location, and our beautiful spotless, and roomy two bedroom villa in the Pine Building. The view from our balcony was breathtaking. Upon our arrival we were immediately greeted by a very nice gentleman at the door. The staff at the registration desk were so knowledgeable, pleasant , and insured we had everything we needed for our stay Even at check out, we were acknowledged with a genuine smile from all three working the registration desk, each willing to assist us. After checking in we drove to our building and found plenty of parking and carts. They even have grocery carts which we thought was a clever idea and so helpful. We went to our villa and were just in awe over the cleanliness, the size, the upkeep and the view of the villa. Our grandchildren loved the onsite park, indoor pools, and the children’s activity center. All very clean and safe. There is plenty of activities on site for children and adults as well. We highly recommend this resort for families visiting Myrtle Beach. We will definitely stay here again!!!!

BEWARE HIDDEN FEES Maybe you have a great experience here but prepare to pay above and beyond. VERY shady dealing with hidden charges. PARKING is $25 per car per night plus tax. This is not disclosed before or during check in. When we requested additional parking passes, nothing was mentioned by front desk. We didn’t find out until our card was charged $800. When we asked about the charges to front desk, she told us it was detailed in an email. The email was extremely long in the smallest print possible, and was sent AFTER check in. Also, they will give you “incentives” for a time share meeting. So pushy and so rude. They try everything they can to stick you with this life long, useless headache that is a time share. We’ve had family members with Marriott timeshares with this specific property. Maintenance fees hike up incredibly every year, my father in law paying over $15,000 a year for a couple weeks. Rooms are not easy to “rent out” as they suggest. Long story short, even coming in January they will find every way possible to charge you extra. I don’t care how nice this place is, never stay somewhere with such shady dealings!

We only stopped in for a night. Check-in was simple, our room was clean and spacious. We had a 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen, dining and living room. The beds were comfortable. Uber eats can deliver directly to the room. Parking is easy. We will definitely be back.

Truly an excellent experience with professionals from the greeting until you are leaving. We enjoy our time no matter the weather. Super cool, stay in and enjoy each other and the views. Ideal temperatures go out and enjoy the beach, sand and air or the pool and other amenities to choose from. All staff is kind and very helpful.

We had a beautiful ocean front villa on the 16th floor. The room was bigger than expected and the main bedroom had an in-room soaking tub and beautiful bay window overlooking the ocean. Really appreciated the daily actives, weather, and fitness classes being text to our room. Loved they offered two different opportunities to take group fitness classes per day at no charge with Zach, who was personable and knowledgeable— highly suggest taking these classes. The full kitchen was perfect for preparing meals. They do not have many options for dining on-site. All the actives throughout the day were organized and executed well by their actives team. Overall one of my favorite resort stays and would return!
