Great park with trails, fishing areas, camping and opportunities for photography. Seems to be well maintained. Edit: So, I was looking at the park map and saw there's a trail that goes by the amphitheater and while looking for said trail after parking in the parking lot, I get followed by a park ranger the entire time and never did find the trailhead. Instead of following me in your vehicle, maybe ask what I was looking for rather than aggressively following me. There are no signs saying I can't walk the Mardela trail. Maybe put some up if it's not allowed and remove it from the map.
This park was great for camping! The staff were very friendly and the park was very clean and quiet. There were plenty of restrooms located throughout the park that were very clean and I witnessed staff cleaning them throughout the day. We stayed during Memorial Day weekend and the park had a planned concert at the amphitheater which was a nice surprise. We also saw a lot of wild life (beavers, snakes, birds, lizards, butterflies, etc.). The nature center was fun and I was surprised it was open during the weekend for visitors. They had some fish, snakes and turtles for guests to learn about as well as other fun activities geared for kids. There were canoe and kayak rentals available for visitors near the boat launch. The only negative that I would say is that the water nearest the campground was kind of dirty and not recommended for swimming. I did see people swimming further out in the river near the point trail where the water has a better current. Overall, this park is great and we'd definitely come back again!
Nice campground very close to town. The sites are level. Clean bathrooms and showers. They have a boat ramp. Small hiking trails plenty of fishing and kayaking.
Fantastic campground. This was my partner and I 's first camping experience together and it was perfect for beginners like us. Very clean, quiet, and beautiful place with fishing, docks, hiking, and biking all within walking distance. The staff & park rangers were very friendly and attentive while also being respectful of our space and privacy. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and up to date. The fire ring was great for grilling. There's a Walmart and other stores only 10 minutes away so it's really convenient if you wind up needing something. Would return.
It was my first time camping and I enjoyed it so much. The campsite was amazing and the bathroom was always cleaned. I definitely can’t wait to come back again. I was concerned about camping but from this experience at this campsite made it amazing.
