We were very happy we decided to stay here. Its really a very nice campground. They have 2 falls that you can walk to. There's a creek that runs behind the sites!! Sue was the attendant at the front desk super sweet lady!! The shower house is very nice. There is a small store with firewood, ice, small groceries, and collectables etc. There is a park for kids. The grounds are very well kept. Pet friendly. And only $25 a night.
We spent four nights here, and we would definitely stay here again. The camp hosts were friendly, helpful, and professional. The sites are spaced relatively far apart, at least 50 feet, and there are no 'full-timers' living there, unless you count the camp hosts, so all the sites are actually available for RV camping. We had no problem booking four nights during the peak of Fall colors, just a couple weeks in advance. They have the cutest little Chipmunks running around the campground, which we found endlessly entertaining. Also lots of hiking trails accessible directly from the campground. Some are easy, some were quite challenging. Campbell Falls is a 1.5 mile hike from the campground, and it is definitely worth it. Not only the falls itself, but the beautiful trees along the road, made it a memorable time. The only issue was, the wifi at the campground is not robust enough to handle a full or nearly-full campground, but we dealt with it because, after all, it is camping. If the state were to upgrade the wifi system there, we would give it five stars.
The campground was full and I think there were some locals using the showers to clean their very large dogs! I didn’t want to shower after them, it was so dirty and smelly. The staff were friendly and our site was clean and level. If there’s WiFi here it’s not working for us and we’re 2 sites away from the office!
I hesitate to rate this because I want to keep it a secret. The campground was perfect, the staff friendly and what I like best that it was not very big, but the atmosphere was amazing. Our spot was 10ft from the river, and the trail to the falls was great. We will be back...
Went looking to photograph wildflowers and see the beautiful falls. Found both and enjoyed them so much! The area was clean and well taken care of! We will definitely be back ❤️
