I like the camp matter . Everything was great .till we went to the pool, the pool rule is very straight , we follow the rule ,the lady told us to put the life jacket. So kids are small so we put the life jacket ,and we have to stick will the pool is 2ft . And I was around my kids and keep eyes on them . Cause I have 2yeasr old boy was stay on the side of the pool .other two not really far from me .but there is one guy literally yelling at me . And keep tell me this and that , when I try to explain to my kids what is going on . But he is still talking and Very interrupted ,also yelling at me and all kids are got scared . So we have to come out of the pool even though the kids wants to swim . That was very bad moment and experience. We spent the money for him to yelling at us . That was worst memory for the kids as well .
Very relaxing comfortable camping areas. Cabins to fit entire family. Nice lake and nice swimming pool. Meals are great and a variety of entrees at each meal. Night time movies, hiking and more
Camp Mather is an unreal, magical experience. It is heavenly for parents, kids, and grandparents alike. We wait with all year with bated breath for the next; our consolation the many memories from the year past!
Our family had a great time at Camp Mather. You can sign up for tent site or cabins. There are lots of activities to sign up for. Archery, ropes, course, hiking, crafts, horse back riding, etc. There's also a pool and a lake for water play. Meals are paid for and provided.
Imagine Sierra Club having a Club Med. Very rustic (not for people who hate camping) and for outdoor lovers but full of activities. You can hike with experienced naturalists, play sports (tennis, basketball, ping pong, soccer, baseball, ...) do a lot of arts and crafts (including tie dye), try archery, climbing trees, ropes courses, horseback riding, or just relax at the pool or the lake. Plenty of things to do in the evening as well. Good food prepared for you in the nice lodge and outdoor tables. And last but not least, super friendly and helpful staff!
Requires winning a lottery and being a resident of SF, but it is worth the effort to apply. Great for a young family and good for grandparents too. Expensive and very worth the cost. Great fun, lots to do and exceptionally helpful staff.
