We went on a two week camping trip to visit several national parks in the Pacific Northwest.. this was the best camp site we stayed at. If you are tent camping you definitely want to be in the G loop as it is less crowded. We did not have anyone within sight of us. One thing that is a little odd is that the private management co assigns the campsites, however they were fine with us wanting to move to G loop. It is a new management co as of 2024 and everyone was polite and helpful. The bath rooms were clean, although basic with flush toilets. Another thing to be aware of is if you have an annual or a lifetime NPS pass you have to ask for your discount ( refund) at the office (store). It is a great campground in a great park. They have a store there that sells some very basic camping items and miscellaneous items including drinks, snacks, t-shirts and beer.
The location is the most important factor, and this location is beautiful. The services leave a bit to be desired, however, especially if you are camping. This is a very basic camping experience, so there are very few sites with hook ups. The showers at the visitors center did not have hot water. If you’re not a hard-core camper, try to get one of their rooms, which have hot showers. But rooms have to be booked well in advance if you plan to come during even a mildly busy period.
This was a typically good NPS campground. There was good space between most of the sites and the campground was clean. There were flush toilets in the bathrooms, of each loops, and they were decently clean. The "F" loop had three showers, that all the loops share, and while almost warm, not hot. The campground is in a Village that had a store and it stayed open pretty late. I only have the one picture of our site.
Came here in mid September. It was very cold. Low of 30°F and high of 50°F. Check in was easy. You find your name on a bulletin outside of the store & it lists your campsite & there is a big map of the campground so you can easily locate your site. Store has free WiFi in case you need to check your phone. Clean site with a fire pit, picnic table, parking spot, & food storage lockers. Nice clean bathrooms with potable water fountain nearby. My loop had a camp host in it which was nice in my opinion. Keep in mind, it is about 30 mins away from Crater Lake. Would love to come here again in the summer when it’s warmer.
Fantastic campsite and perfect location! Aside from the booking reservation not being very clear with directions and not being able to pick your own campsite, we absolutely loved it here. We got lucky with a campsite in Loop D backed up to the river and was very large with our own oversized driveway . The water station was right across our site and the bathrooms were just a few sites over. Loved the village store and gas pump station, very convenient. Location was great for Crater Lake activities.
