Wonder campground right of highway 2. Lake access for small boats, kayaks, etc.. Some of the RV sites (no hookups) have a path to the lake. Crystal clear water. When we arrived, there was a stack of firewood. Many sites had wood. I'm not sure if that's typical, but it sure was nice. Clean pit toilets scattered throughout the park. Nice day use only area as well. Garbage cans for campers are provided. Really liked this campground and would stay here again. Water spickets in a few spots to get water. The park is very dog friendly. Ours enjoyed a swim in the lake.
WOW! Best (by far) campground/lake/hiking/kayaking/cray fishing area in the whole U.S. I have been all over the U.S. also some of the cleanest water ever! You can see the bottom about 100 feet out. Great for kids and family gatherings. Day use areas and first come first serve campgrounds. Clean bathrooms. Boat dock. Best part was the camp host Sherry😉. So much fun I can’t find the words.
Beautiful lake, clean campground, camp host was totally awesome! Definitely staying here again.
Very popular spot on summer weekends, virtually full by Thursday afternoon. Sites are generally large enough for bigger TTs and we were able to cram our 24’ and truck into the smallest site. Sites are generally too sunny in hot weather, but great for solar charging. Sparse trees and limited underbrush leave little privacy, though sites are well spaced. Highway noise is significant, starting with logging trucks at around 4:30am. Offers water and pit toilets. Lake is beautiful with excellent boating of all kinds from kayaks to jet skies. Fishing for smallmouth bass and crayfish is also very good. Lots of hiking with myriad lakes and places to explore. in the area. The host, in her 13th year at this campground, is absolutely the best: helpful, friendly and still runs a tight ship. If there were a National Host of the Year, she would be it. Facilities are well maintained. Bring everything you need because it’s a long ways to town. Definitely worth revisiting.
!!!Update!!!! There could be a change in where the handicap accessible campsites are. I know there are some little kids in wheelchairs , adults, and families are going to love camping here next year! The camp hostess was amazing! She really cares about her campground so don't tick her off or you will be the next contestant out of there! I am in a wheelchair so it was a lil tough getting around especially when they always put rocks in the handicap accessible campsite. I can't roll too well on them. Bathrooms were very clean and easy to roll into. I wish the handicap spot could have been closer to the bay so my husband didn't have to walk all the way around and we had to keep taking the boat in and out of the water. The hostess said she would look into that! Oh and future reference so you don't get tickets make sure you know your limits on crawfish!! So much fun I hope to be back soon!
Really well kept area. Very comfortable and shallow area for the kids is quite a nice natural feature.
Campground was great boat launch not so much need a dock since very shallow
