The customer service was amazing to start off. Everyone at the hotel was so polite and nice and accommodating. I’m giving three starts due to house keeping and the room. We got the single king bed room with pullout couch. When we pulled out the couch the sheet was covered in dog hair and I had to change the sheet myself. The blanket they provided had holes and stains all over. We had to go down for our own pillows because she never brought any. I got a sliver in my toe from the bed somehow. And the shower bottles didn’t have a drop of shampoo or conditioner. This all tells me they don’t clean the rooms properly. Also the hotel restaurant and bar are all very pricey. The pool and hot tub was nice to have but definitely need a good cleaning and some updates. The rest of the facility was in great condition. The gym was super nice and had everything. Overall it was a good experience because the staff were great and the rooms were actually quite nice.
Partner and I decided to book a short last-minute getaway for Valentine’s Day and this place was worth every penny. From the staff to the rooms to everything else, definitely worth the extra money. Our dog came along (a huge plus) and she had a blast. She got all the attention she could handle and the grounds were very accessible if we had to take her outside. This place is basically centrally located to all the main attractions of Kingsport and made our short vacation easy to maneuver (a huge plus also) We will be back- love the MeadowView!!
I stay at a lot of Marriotts for work travel and this one truly disappointed me. Purpose of travel: work, did not use conference center or golf Pros: staff is friendly and attentive, Starbucks in the lobby, amazing (pay for) breakfast buffet. Rooms are newly renovated. Business center adequate for me to print off last minute items. Cons: I had holes in my sheets the two separate times I stayed in two different rooms. Pillows were very lumpy and uncomfortable. Housekeeping on my second visit did not clean the room but in emptied trash and one day left me a set of new towels. (I had a four night stay). Water pressure is inadequate. My door lock died so I had to run down multiple times to get a new key before we finally figured out the issue. The conditioner was empty and never refilled ( not something you want to find out when in the middle of showering. Also I could hear the television in the next room when it was on. Late night and early mornings.
Water was barely warm in the shower. Had to get that fixed. Soaps in the shower we're empty and falling off the wall. Pool heater was broken. Not fun for the children when it's below freezing outside. Food for the conference center was not that great. Some of the steaks were cooked well done, and some of them were closer to medium. Drinks for a continuously empty and had to wave someone down to get a refill. Side dishes was interesting to say the least and didn't taste that good. Pretty facility and good location. Most of the staff encountered were polite and helpful.
I'm usually pretty confident in my rating but this place left me a little conflicted. Some things were great. The pool is nice and has good handicap accessibility. The furnishings and fixing feel fresh and it was clean. But the small things added up for me. Our room had no shower gel, The HDMI hookups on the TV didn't work, the hot tub (an amenity I specifically checked was available because I still have intense pain from surgery months ago). We ordered room service and got the stuffed French toast; it was an overpriced and sorry excuse for food and left a taste in my mouth that I haven't been able to get out. If it wasn't so expensive, I don't think the little things would bother me like they do, but I expect better at this price point.
