๐ฒ Introduction / Overview
For Wisconsin travelers seeking convenience, affordability, and excellent local amenities all wrapped into a beautiful natural setting, the Medford Park Campground stands out as a prime choice. Located directly within the spacious 100-acre Medford City Park, this municipal campground offers an exceptional value for both overnight and extended stays in Taylor County.
The campground is a fantastic representation of a well-maintained city park, providing a clean, safe, and easily accessible base camp for exploring the Northwoods. Unlike remote, rustic sites, Medford Park Campground places you right in town, yet nestled along the scenic Black River and its millpond, offering the best of both worlds. Itโs particularly popular with RV and trailer users due to its full utility hookups and paved, level sites, but it accommodates all campers seeking a well-run, low-cost option.
Visitors consistently praise the incredibly low overnight fee of just $15, which includes both water and electric hookupsโan almost unheard-of bargain for these amenities in Wisconsin. The facility is a point of pride for the city, reflecting "Great job Medford" in the community. Whether you're passing through or planning an extended stay to enjoy local trails and fishing, this campground offers a quality, convenient, and budget-friendly experience.
๐ Location and Accessibility
Medford Park Campground boasts a highly accessible, central location within the city of Medford, Wisconsin, while still maintaining a serene, park-like atmosphere along the water. The campground is situated along the millpond, a picturesque section of the Black River.
The official location is Medford, WI 54451, USA, specifically located within the main City Park, off Centennial Parkway. Its strategic placement provides immediate accessibility to a wide array of city amenities, including downtown Medford, shopping, and dining, often within an easy walk or a very short drive.
Crucially, the campground is just a block away from the Pine Line Trail, a major 26.2-mile paved recreational path that runs through the area, making it a perfect spot for cyclists, hikers, and casual walkers. The sites themselves are paved and level, capable of accommodating large RVs and motorhomes up to 45 feet, as reported by satisfied users. While it is on a city street, which can be busy, the convenience of the location and the river walk path far outweigh this minor drawback for most visitors.

This campground is perfect if you are an RVer who needs reliable electric and water without paying $40+ per night. Itโs ideal for cyclists and hikers who plan to utilize the Pine Line Trail extensively, as the access couldn't be better. Nice camping in town. 16 spaces with power and water for only $15. The negative is the bathroom is a bit of a walk and no showers.
This is an excellent City Park with a very nice walkway path around the lake/pond. Overnight fee for camping was $15. Great job Medford.
Quiet and easy going. First come first served. Bathroom is by the pool area across the street. Long walk at night if you don't know the area. Bring your kayak because you are 50 feet from the river.
30/50 amp on the west side of the street. 30/20 on the east side of the street against the river. Beautiful little city park. Empty when we got here on a Wednesday although it's on a fairly busy road which kinda sucks. Other than that it's nice. No sewer hookups but there is a restroom about 200 yards away near the pool. Restroom was surprisingly clean for a public park restroom. Sites are level and paved. 43mbps TMobile and 24mbps Verizon (visible).
Extend the campsites please. And they allowed "the Zinger" camper to stay all summer for construction workers. Work is done in town and was still sitting there with no sign of campers.
