We camped in the tent side of the campground, a lot of nice spots to camp even though it was really close to the road. Bear boxes on site, had a few bears spot by at night and goggle the bear doors to make sure we put everything away. Shower tokens are purchased on the resort side, 4 mins for two dollars; two dollars per token. I really like how the beach is super close to the campground. I’m definitely coming back to camp.⛺️
Meeks Bay Resort has the best beach on Lake Tahoe. The resort is very rustic. This is not luxury living but comfortable. Most rooms have full kitchens. You can bring all of your own food and never leave the place. Things may be broken or break but the Washoe tribe members that run the place try hard to keep it up. Great hiking in the Desolation Wilderness right out the back of the resort.
Cosy campground with a superb beach on Lake Tahoe. Loved the set-up on the small inlet/river among the pine trees. Road noise was minimal.
Staff was very rude! Wish I could rate them negative! I came with my service animal they asked for identification which was provided upon request. I paid and was allowed in to use the beach and while setting up my area, ladies on the beach kept complaining about my service animal which was very well behaved stating “he shouldn’t be here, he not a service animal”. My husband then went to complain to staff and another staff member told him we weren’t allowed to be there even after paying and refused to give us a refund. Then he began to accused my husband of being high and incompetent. He said he would call the cops if he is high which he clearly wasn’t. He then asked us to leave the property. This place was a complete disaster!! Not a friendly place! Don’t bother coming here!!!!
Great place with lovely views and an amazing location in early season. Great selection of food & drinks. I'd only recommend longer hours for the snack shack & main office. Decent staff while we were there, not amazing bc we had a slight issue with our room
