Perfect place to get in some good vacation riding. Dirt is always tacky and no dust. Many trails to choose from and get lost in. Reference TrailForks for a complete guide.

My son and his wife were recently married at the Mendocino Woodlands! It was a wonderful experience.

Mostly this place and the bluer peer, Mendocino Headlands, intersect with the Big River basin area. The drive is fun and awesome, but schedule couple of hours to enjoy it properly. Heard this place is famous for birds. We saw some hawks avenging in the sky and condors eating a dead one. We wished to stay there overnight, but all campgrounds were closed back in May, 2021.
