We love to stay in this park in our class a motorhome for several reasons. We always stay here when we come in early fall for Wisconsin badger football games. It is a pretty green park with beautiful trees and nice grass. The lake is close by and times you can have a nice view from your RV spot. It is close to restaurants, shopping, and downtown. The negatives are it can be very smoky with everyone’s campfires burning, it can be tight for big rigs to drive around and back into their spot. If it’s raining, it can be very muddy and people will pull right into your spot and make a huge muddy mess in your patio area. The bugs and mosquitoes can be brutal so we always come prepared.
As long as there has been car camping you have been able to pay with cash. Not here. You are required to register online. What if I don't have a smartphone? What if I don't want to put my credit card information on a website? This is ludicrous
We stayed here for one night as we were passing through heading north. The campground bathrooms were clean and sufficient, just a little outdated. It is close to a beautiful lake. Each spot has a picnic table and fire pit . It is next to a busy road but it didn’t bother me. I’d stay here again.
I hear they are completely redoing the park fall of 2024. Its is one big lake when it rains. The homeless live here ands it’s heartbreaking to watch, especially the animals and kids. Thankful they have a safe place. Not the tranquil relaxing park it could be.
The park was well maintained and the lake is a short walk from the campground. The bathrooms and showers were sufficient and clean. It is a public park with a public boat landing, so the facilities are used by more than just campers. The campsites were very level with gravel pads and grass. No bare/dirt spots which is great when you have a dog! The campsites were close to a busier road, so you did get some city noise.
