Metolius River Lodges

It was okay. The lodges are quaint as you would expect. The scenery is beautiful. The river was right outside our front window so that was nice to wake up to. Check in and check out as easy. That being said, the furnishings and finishes are cheap and cobbled together. The beds were just okay, the pillows were absolutely awful. We woke up to fly fisherman 20 feet from our window every morning so we had to keep the drapes closed until everyone was decent. The chairs at the little dining table by the window were cheap old camp chairs, pretty uncomfortable. Parking was not great. The space in front of our unit was blocked the first couple days because the spaces are narrow and 2 big trucks were straddling the spaces. Honestly if every unit was occupied I don’t think there’d be enough parking. Heating was electric and worked fine, though the floor was ice cold, probably not insulated. So bring slippers. The WiFi was near worthless. Good enough to lightly surf the internet with patience, but you can’t stream any shows or movies. So download things you want to watch before you leave. They only provide coffee stuff for the first night, so bring coffee and creamer. The coffee maker hadn’t been cleaned out when we arrived so we had to do that. The light bulbs in the various lamps were different colors and brightnesses. Our room had no kitchen, which we expected, but for some reason had a full size refrigerator, so that you can store all that food you can’t cook. Overall they were cute and quaint, but obviously they put as little into them as possible. And the furnishings aren’t thought out, more like what they can find at garage sales and make fit. With a little extra care and service, and some decent pillows and some basic dining chairs, these would be a lot better. I come to this area often with my family, we hadn’t stayed there before but I’ll be looking somewhere else next year.

The room was very clean and the view of the river was great. WI Fi sketchy at best and coffee pot had a plastic zip tie through plug so was not able to use.

Lovely quiet and tranquil setting. Was a perfect winter getaway. My wife and I stayed 3 nights and enjoyed every minute. We even got some snow for Christmas. Very clean and even had a little wifi and cell coverage. We hope to make this a yearly tradition.

We had a two bedroom lodge with a deck on the river. The lodge was clean and comfortable. It is within walking distance of a store and a restaurant. And of course, there were plenty of hiking trails that passed by the property. We will be going back, for sure.
