Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Cherokee

Had a short stay, but we enjoyed it very much! The rooms were clean and bed was comfy. The lady at the front desk was very nice too! Would stay here again! Great price and great location!

The staff is exceptional. Breakfast was very good. There was a lot of choices. Our room was very clean. We will be staying here again..

The hotel was clean and the rooms were perfect! My only complaint is on the second floor near the very end of the hallway there was an A/C unit with a ton of mold above it. I wasn’t too concerned since WNC had a terrible storm and it might just be the aftermath of said storm. I will definitely be back next time I am in Cherokee!

I’ll start off by saying Holly that works at the front desk is a Godsend. So nice and personal and the exact type of employee i would look to hire….. however - the rest of the staff although they were friendly did not benefit our stay one bit. Stayed a total of 4 days and did not get our room cleaned, trash taken, new towels or anything of the sorts. Asked the lady at the front desk (didn’t catch her name) what the procedure was and she stated it had to be requested due to staffing issues….. I’m sorry but I’m paying you over $700 to sleep at your hotel and i have to request fresh towels? No thank you. Not to mention THEY NEVER CAME!!! Lady did mention we had to be out of the room between the hours of 9-12 if we wanted to use the housekeeping services which we did, but a gentleman came by around 1:30 - didn’t knock, gained access to our room via his master key, and then asked if we needed it cleaned. We of course said yes and he then stated “okay I’ll let housekeeping know”. I’m sorry but who are you and why are you coming in my room to just ask that? What if we wouldn’t have been there? Fast forward to next morning (still never got the room cleaned and i had to personally take all the trash out) i see that same man stripping the bed of the room across the hall. So he was actually the house keeper the whole time and just didn’t wanna clean ours i guess. This would be our 4th year in a row staying at this hotel but never again. Not to mention we are top tier members with Wyndham and are now switching to IHG. Oh and one more thing - there was no hot water. Not one drop no matter the time of day we tried. I get on the res resources are limited and you know you aren’t going to get a 5 star hotel unless you stay at the casino. But the blatant lies and misinformation we were continuously given has put a bad taste in my mouth all together. Oh and lastly- when we expressed our concerns to the same lady at the front desk (older lady who was wearing a mask and gloves) she threw her hands up and told us to write a review. So here ya go ma’am. Thanks for the advice!!!!!

The room was basic but sufficient and very clean. The bed was surprisingly soft. The microwave is in the hallway and shared by the whole floor. For me that was not an issue but it is worth stating I guess. The TV had to be one of the first flat screens ever invented so the picture was awful and channel selection was from basic cable. But you are in the beautiful smokey mountains and on the Cherokee reservation that offers the ability to legally purchase marijuana to all adults over 21 since September 2024.(Remember that legality ends when you leave Cherokee lands)
