Second worst room I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in many. Outlet falling out of wall, with loose wires hanging out. Definitely a fire hazard. Only two outlets in the room period. Desk clerks were not very hospitable. Definitely do not recommend. The Shoals is my hometown area, and I was visiting for the funeral of my best friend. Housekeeping started knocking on the door at 1025, even though checkout is 11am. I was still getting myself and my family ready. They came back twice after.
I had an excellent stay at the Microtel Inn and Suites in Tuscumbia, Alabama. The room smelled fresh and was in great condition. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, getting me into my room even before check-in time. They also provided great suggestions for local dining. Overall, a wonderful experience!
I have rented rooms here before and both experiences were amazing, but this time I was unable to rent a room as no one was at the counter. The night desk person was sitting in a chair, asleep in the adjoining room. I rang the desk bell, rattled my keys, cleared my throat, played music on my cell and rang the bell again and after twenty minutes of waiting and ringing the bell seven times, I had no choice but to go elsewhere. VERY UNHAPPY with this experience.
The floor/carpet in our room was wet about half way across the room. The bathroom sink was dirty and there was long hair in the tub. The beds were comfortable and sheets clean.
I travel for work so stay in hotels more than i stay at my home. I'm a Wyndham Dimond member. Checked in last Friday, blocked off a month and pay week to week. Went to pay for my next week and the staff member said the room was booked next week so I didn't have a room. I told him I blocked off a month so he made a call. And come to find out my room was actually available, but there was a catch. the room was now $300 more for the week. I lost it. There is no way its legal to raise the price that much for a random week. There is work going on close to here so all the hotels are getting full. Seems like this place is just trying to force people out and jack up the price to make more money. I stay in Wyndham hotels 90% of the time when I'm working on the road and have never had this happen. Watch out when booking here for work trips.
