Great campground, big enough for a medium size group. There's a stream nearby where you can get water. It usually runs year around. We were there this November and the temperatures were in the mid 30s at night and in the '60s during the day. There's an established fire pit for you to use. There's a lot of shade from nearby trees that can help you in the summertime.
Great fall season in Matilija. A different look and feel from spring
Nice spacious campsite, room for several tents. Two fire pits, two grills. Large tree and creek through camp. *WARNING* Be careful anywhere on that trail, especially right alongside the creek. There is poison oak all over the place. Before you go, familiarize yourself with what poison oak looks like and avoid it at all costs. I've been pretty miserable since my trip.
It feels so distant from civilization. The stars are brilliant.
