My husband and I can not say enough good things about Midway Campground. We stayed just for one day and night but enjoyed every minute and didn't want to leave. We have a 25 ft RV and picked a full hook up site by the lake. Loved the wildlife, squirrels, ducks, and baby geese. Scott, who works there, is super friendly and accommodating. He made our stay even better with his kindness. Looking forward to going back.
We've had the best experience here. I highly recommend it with or without kids. You can't beat a clean family owned place. You can tell they care for the land and the campers. This is the best campground we've been to thus far.
I would give 5 stars if you could go to the pool without having smoke from cigarettes blown in your face. I can’t believe they allow smoking in the pool area. Like go outside the gate away from kids to smoke. Why sit there and smoke one after another in a crowded pool area with your music blasting? It’s a pretty place and you can’t hear any traffic noice.People seem kind except for the smoking.
We have stayed at Midway several times over the years, it has gradually gotten worse over the years. Beware of DEAD limbs falling out of trees and damaging your vehicles and/or camper, heck it may even fall on you and cause an injury but don’t worry, it’s not their problem. They will simply say “that’s what you have insurance for.” Public safety is not on the top of their list, as dead limbs have been mentioned in previous reviews! Campground staff have even stated they have requested the owners get someone in to take care of the dead limbs but nothing has ever been done. There are several ran down long term campers, and plenty of kids who run around unsupervised terrorizing the place. If you want a peaceful relaxing weekend I do not recommend this campground. Go elsewhere to stay if passing through, even if it’s the Walmart parking lot!
I feel terrible about giving it a 1 star, but deluxe cabin 1 was just that. It's certainly not deluxe, pretty scuzzy, ripped screens, the dirtiest ac filter I've ever seen, the surroundings outside looked like garbage dump. We were passing thru and don't particularly care to stay on hotels. Hence, we found this campground. Having said that, Scott was very helpful.
