Took an Oyster Masterclass with Matthew- "The Oyster Guy" of the oyster farm at Mike's Beach Resort. What an amazing class! I learned a ton about oysters on the Hood Canal and got to eat a pile of tasty oysters. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely a gem of a spot. We were here diving and the house reef is really fun. Flagpole is also accessible with a bit of a shore swim but is Fantastic! The tank fills were fast and convenient. Sat nights in the summer they have live music and grilled food. I am listening to the music over the water from one of the waterfront glamping yurts and it couldn’t be more pleasant. We will certainly be back.

We stayed in the new Glamping Village and what a cute area that was! The tents are very sturdy (it rained most of our stay), complete with a heater that came in handy. Fridge, microwave, dishes, coffee maker and a device to warm up water for tea. It was clean and very welcoming. Multiple toilets on site and even a shower. We could see the beautiful water across hwy 101 and really enjoyed our stay. The rest of mikes resort was across the hwy and up a little ways, that part seemed a little hodgepodge but you can’t beat the setting right on the water. Price wise, it seemed to be the going price for anything waterfront in Washington - so can’t complain about that. Great (free) wifi was available throughout the glamping village too. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming as well.

My wife and I stayed here in 1991 for one night in a tent while on a 900-mile bikepacking trip. Thirty-three years later, on June 28, 2024, we thought we'd stay again for two nights but this time on a car vacation. All the set-up-your-own-tent sites seem to be gone, now replaced with smallish and tightly packed single-unit rooms. The business has expanded to property across highway 101 to include glamping and the "Cabin in the Woods" in which we stayed. This is a single cabin pretty much in the woods. The proprietor's description was pretty close. One has to park about 100 yards at most from cabin. It is an uphill paved road for half this distance but the road is private so no parking on it, then the remaining on a steep grassy uphill. The quarters are tight but the bed was comfortable and the shower water warm. Heaters worked. No dishwasher, AC, or fans. The toilet flushes very poorly but it is better than walking to a bathroom like in a campground. An occasional large black ant made their way into the cabin from the forest. The microwave heated our meals and there are dishes to eat on at a small eating nook. There is a small refrigerator, and there is space on the deck to sit on from which one can see Hood Canal. Not far from great hiking around Lake Cushman.

This stay was a delight! I stayed in one of the shore-front cabins, and had the best time soaking up some of the PNW specialties! We took advantage of their special oyster package add-on and it was honestly one of my favorite parts! Those were some of the tastiest oysters I’ve had. Absolutely a must and fun to do. We also explored the area of the oyster farm where we could pick Pacific oysters ourselves. We had our licenses and it was fun to pick some and use the grill at our cabin to make a midday snack. If you have kiddos this would be such a fun spot! Just make sure they have shoes that protect their toes on the beach :) The cabin was modest and clean. It was fully stocked with everything we needed including the basics for the kitchenette. The view from the window could not be beat! It’s about 15 minutes to Hoodsport and 40ish minutes to some of my favorite spots on Lake Cushman. The family that owns and runs this spot is really what makes it so wonderful. They’ve created a special experience and they were available to ensure a great stay.
