Great campground in old and second growth redwoods. Stayed in southern loop site 25. Great site for privacy but was not under the canopy of the redwoods (which did buy you an extra hour of daylight in the evening). The restrooms were fine and mostly clean. Paid 25 cents for 1 minute of shower time. Very convenient trash and water taps located throughout campsite. Also a centrally located campground for visiting Jedediah Smith Redwoods, Redwood National Park, and Crescent City. No verizon cell service.

Stayed here for 1 night & was not disappointed! It was beautiful. Only issue was at night, our neighbors diagonal from us were arguing, partying & very loud until about 1am. I heard other people shhhing them but no settling until then, it was a bit annoying. We tent camped & had no issue backing into our spot. Fire pit with grate. Bathrooms were clean & easily accessible from our spot. LOTS of mosquitoes so beware.

We LOVED this campground. We stayed at campsite #006 which is a hike-in site. We saw lots of wildlife, had clean bathrooms, and our own space. This was easily one of our top 5 favorite campsites we've ever stayed at. Access: There are a couple stairs and then a path up to the campsite. It was up a little slope, but not a bad one at all. The trail was clearly marked and not overgrown. I would guess the trail was less than 50 feet. We didn't have to take gear to and from our car throughout the duration of our trip, so it wasn't inconvenient or anything. We took a couple trips up to the site carrying everything we needed and then we were pretty much set for the week. Site: We had a lot of space. There was plenty of room to set up camp and feel cozy. The ground was flat and level where we set up our tent. We could see the road, but the cars on the road couldn't see us unless they were really looking. It felt very private and scenic and we loved it. The only con was that every car that enters the campground drives past this site, but at night the noise wasn't too bad bc most people were already at camp. Bathrooms: Bathrooms and showers were clean and tidy. There was construction on the bridge on one side of the bathroom, so we had a longer walk to get to the other side of the bathroom from our camp. There were flushing toilets and running water sinks, but there were no electric outlets or anything. Showers: The showers ran with quarters. They were a quarter to start and then $0.25/minute after. The water was nice and warm, but you could control it and make it cooler if you wanted. They were stall doors instead of curtains like I've seen at other places I've stayed. Firewood: $10/bundle, fires were allowed but always double-check restrictions because they can change fast, especially over the summer. Wildlife: Wildlife is our favorite. We saw lots of banana slugs (especially around camp bc there was a little spring along our hike-in trail), snails, some frogs, deer (and babies!), and even heard an owl one of the nights. We definitely are planning on staying here again, and we hope we'll be able to stay at this same spot. It was an amazing time!

The campsites are large, and they have plenty of bathrooms with actual plumbing. Showers are .25/min. You can buy wood for $10/core. The trees are so thick that when it rained, we barely felt it. The staff is top notch in hospitality and when it comes to keeping everything clean. If you decide to go, be sure to take your camera. Forget phone service. It's the perfect spot to be to avoid calls from the boss. There is no phone or internet service. We went the last week of Sept. Perfect for avoiding crowds. It's terrible if you hate the cold. It was cold during the day, freezing at night. There are some beautiful trails. You don't have to be an athlete, but before you go, I recommend you start taking walks. It's one of the most beautiful campsites I've ever been to. I look forward to going back when the weather is warmer.

Loved this clean, fairly private and well equipped campground! Lots of amenities, big fire pit, bathrooms, showers, water station, and trash disposal all conveniently located. The trees are beautiful, plenty of hiking trails and lovely area! The staff at the main gate were friendly and I was able to buy firewood on the spot. Will definitely be back!
