We had a great time at this campground. It’s completely covered with beautiful redwoods and greenery. Each morning we were greeted by Banana Slugs which was my personal favorite. There was also deer. We had campsite 29 which was private and perfect for 1, 6 person tent. The camp host sell wood for 10 bucks. Bathrooms were very clean and showers were hot.

What is going on with this campground? We've been camping here for over 40 years. The website for making reservations is not working. Missed going for the first time ever last year. Is it closed? It was open the year before. The website still says check back in mid June. By then it will be too late to make reservations or get planned time off of work. Who do you call or is it back to 1st come 1st serve?

We had a nice time overall. But our neighbors in the campground next to us ( the one just before the walk in foot bridge to the secluded camp ) Friday night Aug 3rd from 8p til at least 1:30am was talking loudly ,smoking pot & keeping us awake cuz of the loud talking & laughing. Plus the secluded camp site over the bridge didn't not occupy the camp site until way after the 24hrs that they are supposed to be occupying it. They didn't show up til around 9pm after the 24hrs required occupied time.

This site is lovely, but the rangers checking us in were the rudest I have ever met in my life. We arrived 10 minutes early to check in and we were told we couldn’t check in till 2, then when we pulled into the parking lot to wait we were told we couldn’t wait in the parking lot. Then after making the 10 minute drive up and 10 minute drive back we were told “you aren’t allowed to check in yet because you broke the rules and are BAD we will check in everyone else in line first because they followed the rules” they then told us to park in the parking lot to wait. which confused us all greatly, we have camped here many times in the past and never had anything like this happen. We were very polite and genuinely didn’t know it was so bad to show up early. We felt very disrespected and doubt we will be going back after ranger Christy and their “supervisor” who refused to give us her name (an older woman with long gray braids) treated us so poorly with really no explanation aside from being slightly early.

Only problem was the wind. But then, we can't control the wind. As awesome as I remember. Saw geese with babies and a duck with babies. Caught twelve trout. Yum! And saw a pair of Osprey.
