Millsite State Park Campground Introduce
Millsite State Park Campground, located in Ferron, UT, is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a blend of natural beauty and recreational activities. Nestled near a serene lake with clear waters, this campground offers a variety of amenities, including sites with water and electricity, as well as electrical-only options. Whether you're camping in an RV or pitching a tent, Millsite State Park provides a convenient base for exploring the surrounding area.
The campground features a dump station for RVs and a designated "beach" area, though it’s important to note that dogs are not allowed on the beach. While the park offers stunning views and a peaceful environment, some visitors have noted that the RV sites are closely spaced, which may impact privacy and relaxation. Additionally, the park’s water management system has room for improvement, as poor drainage can lead to puddles around electric hookups.
Despite these challenges, Millsite State Park Campground remains a favored spot for many, especially those passing through on their way to other destinations. The lake, nearly drained in 2019 for a dam spillway project, has since been restored, offering great views and opportunities for water-based activities. The park’s location near the Millsite Dam and Reservoir adds to its appeal, making it a unique spot for those interested in water management projects.
Customer feedback highlights both the positives and areas for improvement. Many visitors appreciate the clear lake and the convenience of the amenities, while others note the tight spacing of the RV sites and the need for better water management. Here’s a summary of what some customers have said:
- "Very nice lake with clear water, but the sites are quite cramped."
- "Great views from the campsite, though the RV sites are packed close together."
- "The lake was nearly drained in 2019, but it’s been restored and looks beautiful."
- "The campground has potential, but improvements in water management are needed."
If you’re planning a visit to Millsite State Park Campground, be sure to come prepared for a mix of natural beauty and some logistical challenges. Whether you’re stopping by for a night or staying longer, the park offers a unique experience in the heart of Utah’s stunning landscape.

Very nice lake with clear water, BUT so so crammed,-they definitely made it the way to make as much as possible. Sites with water and electricity and only electrical. The latter $25, place full. They have damp station. I definitely DO NOT recommend this venue, if you like to chill, relax. People into your face, you can not sit at the site table as next vehicle parked as tight as 5-7feet away, forget to have a conversation with your family. Both sides. Both sides has little digs LOOSE, while i have 3 adult German Shepherds, luckily i mind them, itherwise woukd be no dogs for both neighbours. They just let them roam!! But ince seeing my dogs, they leashed them. All squashes and squized. We had no other option but stay on the way to Bruce, it was getting dark. They have a landstripe "beach" that dogs not allowed. The worst place we stopped at in 3 weeks' time.
They really pack the RV sites close together, and they run the sprinklers even when it is pouring rain. There is a field in one of the loops, but the water hookups are across the road. There's electricity at each of the RV sites, but poor drainage leads to puddles all around the electric plugins. They really need to do some water management in this place, which is surprising since it's built at a water management project (dam and reservoir). If they improve some things, this could be a good place. The lake was nearly drained in 2019 for a dam spillway project. Great views from the campsite
Clean, maintained and quiet campground to stay in the area. We only stayed for a night for my husband to go golfing, but you’re right next to the water and I know they have paddle boards and such to rent for the day. The only complaint I have is the shower… we were in Moab all day and I was excited to take a nice relaxing shower. That wasn’t the case. The shower heads are awful and uncomfortable. they turn off after a minute so you have to turn them back on. Either shower before you get there or be prepared for a very quick experience.
Nice and quiet some spaces are close together
Great other then the nats and mesquitoes. 👍
