My favorite mountain getaway the waterfalls and remote location are a dream... unfortunately both of the mountain roads that lead into this paradise are closed due to the heavy rains of last years winter that caused mud slides..i stopped into the local forestry office in november and they still are not sure when the roads will be repaired because there was a lot of roads damaged . I will try to keep this updated if anything changes. Hope to see you there someday! UPDATE Jan 2019 forestry service roads were posted as open and repairs complete to get here but i am not sure if hwy 162 ( oro-quincy hwy ) is accessable due to damage from previous incident as well as the CAMP fire Nov 2018.
I've grown up here every summer for the past 31 yrs. Since the bear fire came in 2020, milsap bar has been closed due to to many burnt trees that will be falling down soon. The dirt rd to get here isn't really car friendly. And is about 9 miles long. Water is cold and refreshing. Can't wait for it to open again
Excellent. I wish this park got more attention because it is a wonderful place, but I feel like I could use some more care and the people like me and my family who visit this park annually should push for this park to be clean up. And properly maintain in the regular basis. If anyone knows how we can do something to preserve this park for many years to come. Please contact me.
Awesome place unfortunately it burned out in fire. But here's some shots of my drives down there in 2021.
4WD is best. Lots of water is not too crowded because it's down there a bit.
