Location, Location, Views. Camped for five nights May 10 - 15 2024. Campsite 13 and 15 had fantastic views of valley below and the San Francisco peaks. Campsites are nicely spaced so you don't feel you are on top of your neighbor. Room for RVs and pop-up campers. Great hiking all around and some fishing in a small pond. Prescott Valley 30 minutes away and Jerome is about 15 minutes. Vault toilets would be the only drawback but what do you expect for $10 night camping fee.

I love the humbling/spiritual experience this place can give you. Such a relaxing environment of just what is needed to disconnect from certain things and connect with some well needed things. The one thing that I did find hard to deal with is when there is enough bathrooms for all including kids and adults I just don't really feel that it is fair to make everybody use the same bathroom. I do see people maybe having the right to choose which one but making everybody share can be very controlling. The other thing I did find a little off-putting was blaming the campers for the shortage of food when I think it was obvious that there wasn't that many people being greedy with the portions. I do think two to three pieces of meat on a big piece of bread would be an example of campers not being greedy and that was one out of a couple examples.

Fun in the winter and summer. Often gets snow. Last few miles are unpaved, grated road. Go slow! Rental cabins available for families and youth groups. But lots of youth camps summer and winter. Beautiful mountain roads and views.
