This is a rare find. A real gem hidden down in southern Georgia. Paddling was nice and easygoing. Gators galore and deer that nearly walked right up to us.4 mile paddle out to the day shelter on Minnie island. Enjoyed lunch a nap and easy paddle back. I saw one other boat the first mile and never saw another human. Please people get up and out, this place has camp sites with water and bathrooms.

My wife and I camped here in Feb. 2017, during a time when the water levels in the Okefenokee were low. Access to this site even during that time was easy. Lots of birds to watch and a very peaceful place to camp. Passed through some very pretty cypress paddling north from Billy's Lake.
