Visited Sunday 9/29. We enoyed visiting with the park ranger who checked us into our Beech Point campsite. She went out way to make sure that we understood the full range of exhibits and activities that the park had to offer. She was the best!
Wonderful park with a great interpretation center (great for kids)!!! The workers were so kind and the place was clean and well-kept. We spent the day hiking around the trail. There are tons of places to picnic and the camping spaces look nice. This would be a great place to spend a day or a weekend in nice weather. The trail has lots of great tree interpretation; it was nice to be able to walk through and learn about the trees in the area. The trail is easy but there are some stairs but they are navigable.
So beautiful and serene. Highly recommend for a quiet get away. Easy to reserve, affordable and well maintained. Trails close by and being right on the water was perfect
Bear creek campground is stunning! And the bath house is really nice.
What a wonderful visitor center and helpful staff here. Imagine being surrounded by the serenity of water and serenaded by bullfrogs and having impeccable private comfort stations (we were at Beech Point). Such a beautiful and peaceful overnight spot. Would definitely return to spend time to fish and explore.
