- Campsites: The campground provides designated campsites suitable for a "real life camping experience." While a reviewer notes "there aren't a lot of spaces and they're fairly close together," this is described as "typical of most campgrounds," suggesting a standard layout rather than vast, isolated sites.
- Toilets: A key service highlighted by a reviewer is the availability of toilets, which is considered a welcome "spoiled" luxury for those accustomed to more primitive conditions. This indicates basic but functional restroom facilities are present.
- Knowledgeable Caretaker: The presence of a caretaker who is "full of information and knowhow" suggests on-site support and guidance for campers. This can be invaluable for questions about the campground, local area, or any immediate needs.
- Lake Access: As a lakeside campground, direct access to Hayden Lake is a primary "service." This allows for immediate enjoyment of water activities such as swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and potentially launching small boats.
- Water Access: While not explicitly detailed, the presence of toilets typically implies access to some form of potable water, though campers are always advised to bring their own supply or filter water when in natural settings.
- Fire Rings: Most traditional campsites like Mokins Bay would include fire rings for campfires, allowing for cooking and warmth, enhancing the classic camping experience. (Always check for burn bans before lighting a fire).
- Picnic Tables: It is typical for established campgrounds to provide picnic tables at each site for convenience in outdoor dining and food preparation.
It's important to note that the review highlights a preference for "boondocking" due to high prices, but still rates Mokins Bay as an "okay campground." This suggests that while it's not a luxury resort, it provides exactly what it promises: a functional, natural, "old fashioned campsite" experience with the basics covered for a comfortable outdoor stay.

Customer Reviews
Although the campground is located at a very nice location on the east side of the lake there aren't a lot of spaces and they're fairly close together which is typical of most campgrounds. The prices for campgrounds these days have become prohibitive in my opinion I opted for boondocking and seek free camping these days which is almost as easy to find as campgrounds. I would say it's an okay campground though.
I love it it's a great real life camping experience and overall awesome place to be. Coming from the Marine Corps I felt at home with nature and felt spoiled by having a toilet. The care taker is full of i formation and no knowhow. If you're looking for an old fashioned campsite this is it.
Jeff, the campground host, was thoroughly busy ramping up for the holiday, took time to fix our picnic table, and did a stellar job while we were there for 3 days. Thank God for the concessionaire that hired him, happy trails!
Great campground that feels very remote. We stayed for three days and our entire stay was very quiet. The facilities were clean and the camp host was friendly. Beware if you have a bee allergy, and keep an EpiPen on hand. They were everywhere in the campsite, but nobody got stung.
Stayed here with some friends in June of 2023. We had no problems with bugs or a lack of cleanliness, as others had mentioned. Being quite far from any major road, and certainly off the beaten path, the sites were very quiet, and basic amenities like restrooms and clean water were provided. RV spots were available as well, but appeared to be rather small. Beach access is nonexistent, however. The water around the campground is marshy, and I can imagine it being a haven for mosquitoes in the right season. And the nearest store and good public lake access is probably a 20-ish minute drive, so make sure to come prepared! Overall, I'd give it a solid 7/10. It's a nice spot for a quiet night of camping, but not a whole lot else.
