Stayed here on our last night of a road trip before heading home. It was nice. The campsites are a little close to others sites depending on which one you get.. enough room to have a big camp but not far enough away where you won't hear everyone talking. Bathroom's were clean and accessible. I'd stay here again if we were ever in that area.
I've been traveling the world by bicycle for 14 years. Out of the 70 countries I've visited, the United States has been the least hospitable. There's no need to charge $28 and give an RV campsite to someone who arrives exhausted after climbing to Durango with all their belongings on a bicycle during a world tour! Be a bit more practical. There's so much open space. You could charge a nominal fee of $10 or offer hospitality to someone who's been cycling around the world for 14 years and not charge anything. But I guess this is something I won’t see at campsites in the United States; you're not the first, and I’m not surprised anymore. The lake view is beautiful, the campsites are spacious and clean, the restrooms are tidy, and the staff is friendly. They even came before dark to ask if everything was okay, or perhaps they felt bad for charging me $28 ☺️. The only downside to the area is the noise. If a truck is descending on the main road, the brake sounds can be disturbing. My suggestion: create a special campsite for cyclists and don't charge RV rates! If they're not using the shower and only staying for one night, don't charge at all! It would be a positive gesture for your business, and you'd become cyclist-friendly.
Everything about this place was perfect! My husband and I spend 3 nights with our friends and pups. The best part was how dog friendly they were! They even allowed us to experience getting in a boat for the first time with our dogs. The campsite was super clean and had amazing views. The staff was incredibly sweet and helpful. Big shoutout to the guy with blue eyes who recommend us the most beautiful hike we have ever been. The shop have everything you need if you forgot something at. Even GIANT worms from Canada if you forgot your worms for fishing. Jen takes such a good care of the place and I truly love that they don’t allow drones because we were able to spot 3 Ospreys hunting + 3 deers that were hanging around our campsite. Having showers made our lives so much easier! You can see that the staff loves what they do and loves helping everyone around the campsite! We will most definitely come back ❤️
Big campsite with different levels/sizes of camp spots to choose from. Lake side $ and not so lake side. Great views and a lake to enjoy as well. Very close to the road so road noise is a thing, some sites being further away but still hear traffic. Hosts are very nice and there is a store on site with camping supplies and wood and a water spigot. Showers are $5 for five minutes.
We rolled into the park around dark hoping there were some spots left. We didn’t have any internet to check ahead of time. We went to the office, which was closed, but the camp host came out and was so nice and gracious and helpful to us. She told us which sites were open and would accommodate us. They had nice clean toilets, firewood and potable water. Would definitely recommend this campground!
