Great place for a weekend trip from the city. Quiet and picturesque. Staff was helpful, bathrooms were clean (the buildings with the showers were the nicest I've seen at any campground). Beware of no service! Come prepared with maps to hikes and back to civilization.

Awesome campground but for those looking to camp here for the first time, here is my simple list of pros and cons.. Pros: - Big lake with great fishing (there are blue Gil’s, perch, small mouth bass, pickerel and more) so bring your worm bait and perfect for water activities such as kayaking. - large campsites (lakeside sites are bigger) with nice stone fire pits. Highly recommend the premier sites! - newly updated/renovated shower facility with private shower “rooms” equipped with a wash station for dishes. - Plenty of wildlife including deer, birds, chipmunks, and even the occasional beaver. - Nice, friendly family atmosphere which is ideal for children and adults alike. Cons: - no cell service for MILES and the nearest town is about 20 minutes + away. - no one patrolling to keep unruly behavior at bay (in our case noisy neighbors shining flashlight all in our tent and in our eyes well after 10pm despite the quiet hours posted) - Lots of raccoons ransacking your site at night even when you’ve throughly cleaned up your food, utensils, dinner plates. No they are NOT afraid of you either so they will try to come for you. - Tons of bugs and I mean TONS. Since this is lake side campground, there are millions more gnats and flies than you will find anywhere else. - Rough weather patterns. Storms come almost out of nowhere so be prepared! You cannot control weather, sure, but without service you can’t track the bad weather. Hubby and I battled a brutal storm our first day with 50+ mph winds and rain trying us for hours. Overall, a nice place with some downsides as to be expected. Go prepared with extra tent spikes for wind storms, keep all your food in the car even during the day, and bring tons of bug spray!

Love this campground. Big pond , clean restrooms , wooded campsites. Only issue was lots of mud. Campsites need to be built up a bit, many of them are Mud pits.

What could’ve been a great weekend with friends was ruined by rude, power-tripping staff. We missed a fine-print rule about a 2-tent limit—our mistake—but instead of helping us remedy the situation, staff threatened us at 11:30 PM and refused to let us book and pay for the empty site across from us because “the computer was down.” The next day, our car broke down at checkout time, and instead of offering help or even jumper cables (there’s no cell service), staff scolded us for not being gone already. Thankfully, a fellow camper helped us out. This place lacks the kindness and community you usually find at campgrounds. I’d highly recommend spending your money somewhere else that actually represents those values.

Nice little campground, especially if you are with friends and family. If you like the outdoors, look no further. Just note that they don’t sell firewood but stores sell some nearby. Fishing, swimming, hiking, and other outdoor activities are all here. Make sure to bring marshmallows for s’mores!

Stayed here for a few days, it was a pretty nice campground, I really appreciated the shower facilities. Very busy on the weekends, make sure you book ahead of time. Only minor annoyance was that they close the registration/info desk at 4pm so I had to go again in the morning or risk losing the rest of my reservation. Also bad for people getting in late that might want some camp info and don't get mobile reception
