Montgomery Camp Office Introduce
Welcome to Montgomery Camp Office, a campground within the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, located at 6836 Park Rd, Montgomery, IN 47558. You can reach them at (812) 486-3255 or +1 812-486-3255. This campground offers a unique experience, blending community living with camping amenities.
Montgomery Camp Office is characterized by its community atmosphere, with many sites occupied by long-term residents. The campground features a beautiful lake, although bank fishing may be limited. However, boat fishing is reported to be productive, with good-sized bluegill. The campground provides a fish cleaning station, which is a convenient amenity for anglers.
Key features and services highlighted by customer reviews include:
- Full Hookups: The campground offers full hookups, which is a significant advantage for RV campers.
- Lake Access: A beautiful lake is on-site, offering fishing opportunities.
- Fish Cleaning Station: A convenient facility for cleaning fish.
- Community Atmosphere: Many sites are occupied by long-term residents, creating a community feel.
- Proximity to Local Attractions: Close to Amish country attractions, restaurants, and shopping.
- Friendly Owners: The owners are described as very nice and easy to work with.
However, it is important to note that the campground has some limitations. The primary camping area near the lake is often occupied by permanent residents, so weekend campers may have limited access to lakeside sites. Some campsites may face the road or other less scenic views, and there are no designated trails within the campground. Additionally, there have been reports of maintenance issues, such as leaking hydrants, although the owners are responsive to these problems.
Montgomery Camp Office is ideal for those seeking a relaxed camping experience with full hookup amenities and proximity to local attractions, particularly Amish country. It is also suitable for those who appreciate a community atmosphere. However, visitors seeking a purely nature-oriented experience with extensive trails may find other campgrounds more suitable. It is recommended to call ahead for site availability and to confirm any maintenance updates.

Customer Reviews
This campground seems primarily for those who have permanent camping lots. The lake is beautiful, but ONE DAY of fishing didn't yield any bites. I've heard fishing is great from a boat ... nice sized bluegill. Not many options for bank fishing without intruding on someone else's area. This park is a few minutes away from Boggs, so we fished there. They do have a fish cleaning station in this little park which is pretty decent. No bone crushers. You have to throw away the leftovers in the dumpster very nearby. This is a plus. The camp is located in the middle of town, and there are sites on both sides of the road. When we got up in the morning we were able to watch the morning commuters ... including the horse and buggies of the Amish. There are a lot of trees in the main camping area (where you see the pictures online), and it is very pretty. Those are permanent sites which are primarily for people who rent year round. The pictures are a bit misleading. If you are looking for a weekend place to camp, you won't likely get near the lake unless there is an open spot. Call ahead for space availability. The owners are very nice and easy to work with. Super nice. The two reasons I give it only three stars is because the hydrant didn't just leak. It spewed. The owners are aware, and it is on the to do list. We turned off the water when we weren't there and also when we were not using the water because the water got everywhere. We left a night early ... for which I dock 1 star. The water was fixed just prior to leaving, but we were already prepared to go. It was mentioned the day before and got fixed a day later The other star is because there are no pictures of the site we got ... Our campsite faced the road. To the west is an unnamed building that looks like a church with a parking lot. To the East is a soybean field. Of course there is a camper on the south side behind us. Most of these sites are permanent sites as well. But the owners were very, very nice on this. We were actually lucky to get this site. It just turned out this isn't what we were looking for, but that is not their fault. There is another site on the same side of the street with lots of trees, and that area is more shaded. There are no trails, but I didn't see any advertised. Not misleading on this. There are plenty of places to walk inside the camp. Pricing is great for what you get. Full hook up is really nice. There are restaurants and an ice-cream (fabulous ice-cream) shop within a bike ride distance. Shopping (food) is not far away. Amish touristy stuff is nearby (restaurant, bakery, stuff). If you are a towny person, you'd like it very much if you could get a spot to get away. If you are an outdoorsy person, go to Boggs. It's not that far. I caught 10 nice bluegill in the Red Fox area in under an hour ... The camp is clean and worth what you pay. We won't be back because it isn't what we are looking for, not because of the camp itself.
