Moon Valley Campground

This is my second time at moon valley campground. I almost didn’t want to leave a review bc I wanted to keep it a hidden gem. 🤣 I had such a wonderful time with my friend the first time that I brought my entire family to enjoy it this time. It is a nice getaway from busy, everyday life. My first stay was at hilltop hideaway. I made a mistake and booked heavens landing the second time but Dom was very understanding and worked with me. Both spots were beautiful in their own way. It’s also in the most convenient location where you can enjoy lots of activities. I will definitely be coming a third time!!

What a beautiful campsite! Quiet, serene and peaceful. It’s close to lots of fun activities however the first day we found ourselves relaxing at the site because it is just so incredibly peaceful. We stayed at campsite 1 the ground is level, the gravel is nice and even and kept our tent and other things much cleaner. Perfect trees for hanging a hammock on your site. The bathroom was very clean and well stocked. Grounds easy to navigate and fun to explore. Loved being walking distance to Appalachian Trail. Will absolutely be back again.

What an awesome place! I stayed in the Dome (the Lookout) and it was so relaxing and tranquil. The view was so amazing, the space was clean and more than comfortable, with thoughtful inclusions like wipes and a fan. Loved the string lights, picnic table and fire pit. Each site is unique and very private and the location of the campground can’t be beat. Just a few minutes to the Appalachian trail! The check-in was easy and they were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this spot.

Recently my husband found Moon Valley Campground searching for a last minute camping getaway so our 4 year old could experience tent camping for the first time. We were blown away by how beautiful this campground was. We stayed at the Heavens Landing site and it was in the woods with a small clearing to walk up to. We saw sheep and cows and a big gorgeous sky. The tent had a very comfy full size bed that fit the 3 of us on a chilly night. We loved the picnic table and cabinet at the site. The chairs look uncomfortable but were great and we even said next time we don't need our camping chairs! There are only 5 sites total at Moon Valley so if you are looking to experience camping in peace this is the place to go. The owner was only a text away to answer any and all questions or concerns that we had. We only wished there was more than one porta potty on site (my 4 year old wasn't a fan lol) but hey it's rustic and it's camping! We absolutely loved this place and can't wait to go back!! Exceptional find!!! It was really hard to leave. 🩷

This is the most breathtakingly beautiful site I have ever stayed! The views are unbelievable and we were graced to see cows come up to pasture twice a day. The tent was awesome and had more amenities than we expected. We cannot wait to go back!
