Moonshine Creek Campground

The campground was beautiful and my site was a true gem, boasting a babbling brook on two sides and trees that will make your heart sing. The weather was exactly as fall weather should be! We had warm days and cool nights. You can’t beat the location. You feel like you are isolated in the deep woods, but there are so many things to do within 30 minutes! The owners of this quaint little campground were so kind and helpful. They helped me backing up my little T@B and even delivered my firewood to the site! The real unexpected show stopper? The bathrooms! Oh my, they were impressive - spotless, beautifully designed, and equipped with granite countertops and roomy shower stalls that include a private changing area. It's no wonder they've won 'best campground bathhouse' two years running. The one piece of advice I will give if you are planning a visit is to print the directions off the website and do not rely on GPS. I did and had no problem. My sister did not. She made it there but was a bit frazzled by the time she arrived! Thank you for a wonderful weekend. Y’all have a little slice of mountain heaven! We will be back!

I can't say enough great things about this campground! My husband and I needed a quiet get a way and the sanctuary area was the perfect spot for us! I'm so grateful to have found a new "happy place "! It's unbelievably clean , mostly private, and the owners and their staff are top-notch! Absolutely gorgeous! We can't wait to be back!

I highly recommend Moonshine Creek by-5 stars! ”A little piece of heaven on earth” is the best way I can describe this campground. This mountain getaway has lush shade tress with a creek running through the property. The owners and staff take pride in keeping the grounds preserved and the guests happy. Everyone I encountered was kind and helpful. Before we even arrived, due to an approaching storm, we had to delay our arrival by a couple of days and the staff was beyond accommodating and without any question or penalties. There are RV, tent and cabin sites available and they are all clean and well maintained. The bathroom, shower and laundry facilities are spotless. A beautiful, bubbling creek runs through the campground and I think just about all the daily RV sites are right on the water. Just 6 mins away, we were able to get on the Mountain-to-Sea trail for a nice afternoon hike. We sat at night by the fire making s’mores and listening to the creek next to our site. It was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. We can’t wait to return to Moonshine Creek for another beautiful, mountain getaway! Thank you!

My family rented one of the large tenter's cabin this past weekend. We can't recommend this place enough. Clean facilities, friendly staff, the sound of the creek. One big plus for me is the fact that it was a "Dark Sky" campground which made for excellent star gazing. We can't wait to go back!

We are relatively new to RV camping and chose Moonshine Creek for our second adventure. What a great choice. It is obvious the owners take pride in the campground - nicely landscaped, clean facilities and well maintained sites. They show genuine care about their guest’s experience - escorting you to your campsite, helping you place your camper for maximum enjoyment of the space, delivering firewood and if asked, providing recommendations for daily outings. The vibe is relaxing and low key chill…something it seems harder to find these days. It was a great, long weekend escape - we’ll definitely be back.
